replacement floor pans

I was just under my 89 RS and noticed something I did NOT want to see.... a good sized hole in my passenger side floor. Everywhere else under the car is rock solid, not even any surface rust on the other parts of the floor. The hole is all the way on the edge of the floor near the passenger door, and the unibody lip is pretty bent up. I think that someone jacked the car up under the floor pan and put a hole it, then cut out part of the floor but never welded in a new piece. Great. Anyone know where I can find a replacement piece to weld in? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks-
Mark

Yeah, mine was like that, but worse.

I know exactly the area you are talking about. Common from what I've seen.

I had 2 slightly rusty floorboards cut out of a junk Camaro...but they were rusted badly in one spot, but not the part I needed......costs like, 50 bucks. I then cut the good pieces out that I needed to replace MINE 'cept I cut them bigger , and laid them on top of the rusted section on my car (because it's molded perfectly) Ideally - Mig weld them on. Pop rivets could substitute. Pump silicone sealer around the inside/outside edges, and undercoat it.

Oh - make sure you grind ALL the rust around the edges of the hole.

Worked very well. It's solid. I believe it should last maybe 10 more years. Yes - I realize that replacing the entire floorboard is the only solution once the rust starts. I only seen one place that sold replacement 82-92 floorpans, and they were like..240 bucks. PER SIDE!!!

Anyways, good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks man, sounds like a cheap solution. The only problem is that I have no torch/plasma cutter to cut out a junkyard floor pan. Are there any companies that make a pan already molded?
