Help With my Formula Headlights? broken mechanisms?
I am having 2 problems with the flip-up headlights on my project 88 formula. #1 One of my head-lights (drivers side) is completey broken, It just sits there loose, bouncing around, only mounted on the side opposite the motor, Looks like there is some broken fiberglass in there too. I know this is vague, but has anyone had something like this happen? It almost looks like someone tried to force it open by hand.
#2 The passenger headlight motor runs, but the headlight doesn't come up by itself. If i help it up by hand, it goes easy, but doesn't seem to want to stay up. I am new to firebirds.. is this a sign of my pop-up motor going out, or is it something else?
Thanks for your help, i am a newbie to firebird's headlights
I know this would've been easier to explain with pictures, but i didn't feel like taking a chance driving from my shop with those problems tonight . thanks again guys! brad

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. You might need a new assembly. Just remember to get a 85-90 assembly because they are different than 91-92 and 82-84.

I manufacture the repair kit to fix the 1987-92 Firebird headlights. It is under the Body & Interior category. You can also download the installation instructions from the Instructions section of the main page of the web site. It will give you more information about what is causing the problem (bad gel inserts) and how to repair it.
