Top Down goes above and beyond....again
If there was any doubt about Lon and Top Down, here is another post to add to the other kazillion posts of a good business. I knew my hatch motor housing was cracked like an eggshell and missing the housing pieces. The plan was to order a new housing from Lon but no rush.
On Tuesday I went to my Pontiac dealer to get posi fluid addative and just for laughs I wanted to see if they had the housing. They did and I shelled out the plastic and was eagerly anticipating my trunk to work.
During disassembly of the housing, the remaining piece split into more little ones thanks to the Arizona sun and whomever kept slamming the hatch shut.
I thought that someone at GM played a cruel joke on me because the housing I just bought at my "authorized GM parts dealer" didn't fit. I had them double check and they only showed one design and one part.
Boneyard search or call Lon sooner than expected...........
After speaking to Lon and explaining that I was going to buy his product but it was soooooo convienent that this was in stock at the dealer............... bottom line, didn't work.
He tells me someone swapped a new design motor assembly in my Bird and I'm pretty much SOL at the dealer because they only sell the motor and housing in 1 assembly but he had a housing that was damaged and would fix and reinforce it for me. Everything I had read about him was true, this is a GENUINE good guy with knowledge.
Here comes the above & beyond............
So I space Lon out and forget to call him back with the card # until today. I asked him can he ship this UPS and bill it to my UPS account? No problem. Huh? Previous experiences have been that most businesses won't bill your UPS account because they can't gouge you for shipping charges. Lon, can you send that puppy out overnight service, my hatch is being held down with a tie down? He tells me UPS came and went but he'd drop it off at the UPS hub on the way home.
Lon, your company has my business as long as I own a F body.
Need I say more?

Thanks,
