Try replacing the burned-out light bulbs.

most of the bulbs on mine were fine... the connectors just had a small short or so.. just replaced all of the bulbs anyways.. (Those were expensive... jeez) and bent the wires a bit so they would push outwards on the metal for a better connection, and it works now.
Also; i have a quick question.
on my 87, the third-brake light is on the spoiler
yet on my neighbor's, he has louvers, and his third light is at the top of the hatch. Was that aftermarket, or was it standard on a certain year, or what?

Dude, you're right!! Rat Shack part number 272-1177 for $1.99 each. The local Shack had them in stock. Why pay triple to 4x at the car parts store??

Now just don't touch the bulbs with your bare fingers when you install them.

I found another web site that has a lot of specialty bulbs for cars. Including high-output versions of the common stuff. Check out www.autooptiks.com.
Halogen 50 Watt versions of the 1156 and 1157 lamps. High output 885 fog/driving lamps. Conversion kits for the headlights that lets you run 100 Watt capsules. (Way cheaper than the HID conversions).
Ed. - sorry for the typo in the URL.
