Help With gauge cluster....

isnt it true that they started making the Electric spedos in 1986? well i got a 4 gauge cluster for my 86 firebird and i was about to pull the old one out and here i find that it it stuck on something... i find that its a Damn cable coming from the back of the spedo... so i followed it to the engine bay and it led to the back of the car... i was so pissed... but is there anyway to convert from cable to electric soedo or is there anyway i can change the cable spedo to the 4 gauge cluster? i just want to use the 4 gauge cluster with my setup now...

i dunno about changing that from cabel to electric, but yea... thas your speedo cable. there should be a small clip you can push in and then pull the cable off.

Maybe you're not looking hard enough! There are posts on how to do this. Yes you can do it. Peole have beore too! You will need parts from a donor car. Not too sure about firebirds since some had electric and others did not but i just found out that camaros changed over in 90. I am doing the same only i am using Auto Meter guages. good luck
