replace or repair door?
Bummer, I scraped the right side door of my 83 Z28 against a metal pole (planted in the middle of a dark parking lot). I need some advice:
1) replace the door or have it bodyworked back into shape (it is pushed in about 1-1/2 inches, very rough damage)
2) if I replace the door, do I have to worry about it fitting properly? What about the options (i have power door locks and windows).
3) What is a good source for a replacement door?

Yeap! I would replace it. Either buy a used one that is in decent shape and have it painted to match. Or if you really feel courages you may be able to replace the door skin itself, as long as that is the extent of the damage and it is not inturnal too.

you could try to fix it, but if it is too expensive look for a used replacement,,,they're not that expensive...I would really have to see it to tell you what i think.

try local junkyards! you can pick a door up for 40 bucks.. maybe more or less..
sometime its just not worth the hassle fixed a body panel if it can be replaced easier and cheaper.. good luck

door hinge problem
My driver's side door is getting harder and harder to close. An recent article in High Performance Pontiac says the lowere hinges can be replaced with about $15 in parts.
But I went to a local body shop to get an estimate last week and they quoted over $500!!! Does anyone know of a less expensive fix for this?
