Proper way to remove inner door plastic molding...

You know, the long plastic piece along the door? My passanger side one is cracked to hell, and I yanked one with no cracks out of the boneyard yesterday. Now, I noticed these weird little nut things on it, and that it goes to this cardboard. What's the proper way to remove the old one, (without f'ing the cardboard) and popping in the new one?

I take a pair of plyers and unscrew them out... AND with a flat screwdriver gently pry it off as your twisting, otherwise they just spin. done it a few times. it takes some time, and to put them on is faster, but thats the only way without some fancy tools that I know of to get them off...

whoa... how does one get to them, when it's still on the car? They don't seem easy to get to... is there some way of popping it off, then disconnecting the clips?

To get that piece off w/ the door panel roll your window all the way down and push it toward your window and up, with a little manuevering the sucker comes right off then attack them bolts like okfoz said

umm, ON THE CAR????

well considering that I can get my door panels off in about 15 min (BOTH SIDES) I would pull them... MUCH easer than trying to do it ON CAR... Matter of factly, I do not think it is possible to do it on car .

1) remove the T-15 torx screws on the plastic rectangular trim piece (Don't be fooled by fake torx heads)
2) remove the T-15 torx screws from the mirror adjuster trim piece
3) Pull the trim piece off gently...
4) remove the 3 T-30? screws from the arm rest
5) pop all of the fasteners on the bottom back and front of the door with a piece of stiff sheet metal.
6) with the window down, and by pushing towards the outside of the car and pulling up on the door panel you have to unclip it from the top of the door. A real PITA at times.

to re-assemble reverse process...
