92 SS Hood with what color stripes?
I just got a SS hood for my 92 RS. The car is that dark mettallic red I think. I think the factory name is (BRILLANT RED) Dont quote me though!!!! I need as much feed back as possible. What color stripes should I put on it? Black, SILVER or do any of you guys have some better ideas??? Let me know because this is going to cost me alot and I need some advice. If anyone knows of some good websites that have stripped camaros let me know so I could see them. When I take my car in next week I would like a picture of a camaro that has my hood striped so I have something to go by. Just give me some feedback!!!!!!!!!

I been leaning towards silver but a friend told me it might look weird since I have a tan interior. Do you think that would make a difference????????

Of course it's just a suggestion, but if you want something different, how about a darker shade of red? Maybe a fade, from dark burgandy near the nose, to body color near the base of the windshield; or, dark red stripes with body-colored ghost flames barely visible within the stripes? The various shades of red look pretty good on the Z28 emblems. I''ve been kicking around the idea of silver stripes with grayish-silver (and purple tipped) ghost flames for my dark purple 92RS. Just a thought.

Black might not be enough contrast as you like, and it would be difficult to pull off. If the car was yellow, then definately go with black...
if it was my car and it was the bright Metallic Red color, I might consider either the Gold as mentioned before, OR, I might even consider a slightly different color Red to be subtle... Could be really sharp if done correctly. Like if you used the new Red that they are using on the new Trail Blazers that is a candy color...

Well my car is in the paint shop and they are painting it BLACK. The stripes will be going down all the way to the front ground effect. I will NOT use the hertage stripes were the stripes get smaller. It will be the same size all the way down the hood and bumper. I choose black because the painter who has been doing this all his life highly recommened black. He promissed me that it would look great and I would not be disapointed so once I get my car back this coming sunday I will take some pics and post it!!!!!!!!

Just an opinion.....I'm not sure if I would put stripes on it or not. To me.......and SS hood with stripes takes away the actual look of the SS hood.......I mean, they look kewl with stripes.....but....Id rather see just the Ram Air SS hood.....with no stripes...

I know what you mean I was debating whether to stripe it or not and ever since I had my other camaro that I crashed I wanted stripes put on. When I go this hood which is something that I have been wanting I thought of not striping it but I knew if it was done right it would look sweet. The guy that striped it did a great job. With or without stripes your car will look good!!!! All I know is that once I gotted painted with stripes I have never in my life gotten so many good comments on my car when I am on the road, not to mention all the stares.

Hey 84customZ28, if you're considering stripes, you might think about having them go around the opening on your SS hood to set off the unique look. Just a thought.

Yeah it was quite a bit for the hood! I should of bought it threw someone else. I have bought alot of stuff threw year one and rather of spent the extra money to make sure I got what I wanted. I was not worried about money when it came to painting the car because I rather my paint job come out right then save a few bucks. I just washed and detailed my car yesterday. Once I get better pics I will post them!!!

i personally think that the stripes on the ss hood like great. i'm planning on getting both whenever i can save up the money. bright fire-engine red with black stripes. although, i never though about the stripes going around the intake on the hood. that would look pretty cool, and would be uniqe seeing as how everyone and the grandmother has an ss hood with stripes! i also hadn't thought about ghost stripes... that would be neat too. so many choices, so little money! ah, college is great!
