Engine Bay Ideas...

I'd clean it up real good (REAL good) and find a high temp rattle can that matches your exterior and do it in that. As for the engine, you have to determine your overall color scheme prior to that - maybe an aluminum and red combo? That would be set off from the blue nicely.

Probably will go with the blue engine bay. Still debating on engine though. Still being hot tanked at the machine shop.

viper blue engine bay, black engine paint for the motor.
I did my engine bay in flat black and I'm not really too impressed with how it looks. It's good for me because I'm always under the hood, so touch-up is a cinch... but next time it'll get painted along with the car.

paint it the same color as exterior, black will look stupid. I did it black then painted it all over pearl to match the exterior looks way better.

'Course... a viper blue engine with white "details" would look pretty kick@ss... As long as you get the white powdercoated when and where it's possible, THAT would be a killer look.

flippinTHEbird,
Could I see a picture of the exterior?
btw, I love the saying, I'm with it 100%.

I just got done painting mine two weeks ago. It came out pretty good. I went out, got a spray gun for $100 to hook up to my compressor, went to my body shop to get color matched paint and a can of clear coat. The paint was $40 for a pint and clear. The hardest part was preping the bay. It took forever but it needed to be done otherwise it would've come out like crap. As for the block, my motor is a crate motor so it came black. I thought about painting it but you really will not see it with all of the computer crap and wires everywhere so i didn't waste my time. If you are going with a carb set up i would say paint it b/c you can see more but i would go black for a clean look. I say paint it the color of your car b/c it may look out of place another color. Good Luck

Next time I have my engine out, I think I am going to undercoat the engine bay. We undercoated the entire engine bay on my firends 66 mustang and it turned out nice looking. But the best part: no polishing required!
while you're engine is out, you might want to clean it up and paint it too. Kinda nastly looking...

Undercoating is not a good choice for the engine bay.
Everytime the engine runs it generates heat. And after the engine warms up, the undercoating will become a sticky mess that will turn your hands black and stain your clothing if you touch it.
