need advice on pwr lock fix
my car has power locks and keyless entry. (85 iroc) the power locks dont work and neither do the keyless entry. when i hit either my remote or the door switch, i can hear them click and the manual handle moves back and forth about 1/2'' but it doesnt lock or unlock. i can lock and unlock with my hand, just not with the power. its almost like the motor just doesnt have enough power to lock them all the way. any suggestions? also, the key wont unlock the car from the outside. it works on my hatch but not on my locks. it wont even go in. any advice would be greatly appriciated and would save a lot of headaches.
(there has been some car vandalisim recently)
thanks

You just need to lube it all up.
Take off your door panels, and start lithium greasing everything. Then lock and unlock your doors a few times, eventually, it will all wear in and you will have working power locks. Its not your lock motors at all.

While you've got the doorpanels off, make sure the rivets holding the lock solenoid to the door aren't loose. I had the same problem, the rivets were loose, the solenoid was moving in place instead of moving the linkage.

The guys are right. You might lube the window tracks as well. Also, check that the rubber bump stops are still on the tracks and not laying at the bottom of the door. Should you have noise in the door, as most of us have, check the linkage rods (I've found that they're more often the culprit than any thing else).
