Okay this is driving me nuts....

I have recovered my headliner in my 83 Camaro three times and the stuff still sags! I think the first two times I did it I was rushing and didn't take my time.

The third time was different...

I removed it and after cleaning it, I sandwiched the fabric between textbooks. Took three days and stayed up for about ten.

After reading some more articles (and using the search) I think I found out where I went wrong but want to see what you guys think --

I used the DIY headliner repair kit from Pep Boys. Although the Fabric is of a pretty good quality, The glue leaves something to be desired. What is the BEST glue to use? 3M? Something else? What do the interior shops use?

When I removed the old crap foam from the headliner, tons of brown dust came off. The rest of the board was green in color and the side that faces the roof is tan/gold. Is that green stuff old glue? Or is it something to give the board strength?

I used a glue normally used to stick down foam backed carpet. I tested it on a small section after I had cleaned off all the old foam. it worked really well. I had considered the option of buying an ABS headliner with pre-installed fabric, but to the UK it's like $400, as opposed to $50 for fabric.
