Trunk Lock Shot!

My trunk lock just stopped locking and won't catch the trunk door/rear window, so I took it out to fix it ,does anyone have any ideas ,cause the spring inside is not catching anything ,any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanx.

P.S. this is a 1991 trunk lock style minus the power pull swhich was removed by previous owner .

Spray it with brake cleaner. Blow it with compressed air. Then spray it with WD40. I sell rebuilt units for $135 + $30 refundable core deposit if you want to go that route.

Not for your style of hatch pull-down unit. You can bolt it in place or weld it. I've also seen some that bolted a pre-86 latch portion onto the frame of a 1986-91 unit.

trunk lock

Well thanks for the info but.....I gotta replacement for just thirty bucks with the motor from a 87' t/a ,the guy was gonna sell me a non-motorized version for just $25.00 ,
but all he had was the motorized lock for just $55.00, so I told'em to remove the motor and and the dude just like gave in and sold to me just to get rid of it so he could scrap the body I got it from.
