Question about rims yo....
Hey all:
Quick question:
1. Im interested in getting the Y2K Corvette rims for my 92RS. I need spacers right? Someone told me though that in my area (northern VA) that I would not pass inspection. Is this true?
2. I want the 18 x 9.5's in the back and the 17 x 8.5's up front. I also want to drop it with the sportline kit. Will it fit? and what size tires should I get? Note: I want a little bit larger in the back.
3. Post any pics that have this combo.
Thanx guys,
Jeremy

I don't know about tire size, but you are correct that you will need spacers. I have never heard of this causing a person to fail inspection. They are actually more of an adapter than a spacer. They bolt to the hub and have their own set of studs that the wheel bolts to.
As for tire size, I don't know. I'd assume the front will be a 275/40 ZR 17. As for the rear, I have no idea. There are some others on this site that have the C5 wheels that may be able to tell you what tire size they have and whether they rub.

i think if the wheel sticks out too far in the back you will fail inspection. i dont know for sure, but it's what i've heard, you might want to look into it. best way to find out, email the dmv...

I've got 2k C5 rims, with billet adapters from www.skulte.com (not spacers, big difference between the 2) . They do not protrude out beyond the wheel wells as much as you might suspect. I've not had the car inspected, but I do not anticipate their will be any difficulty. ( I am in texas)
You get the point. Contact Andris Skulte at www.skulte.com, tell him what wheels you will be using and he will get you a perfect fit. I will warn you though, I had to have someone bang my wheel wells out a bit because the tire was initially scraping on the wheel well in the rear. Might want to consider that with those 18's.
