floorboards

My floorboard from under the drivers seat to the back is rootting out. I already have a hole. I have some fibergalss matting, sheet metal and some body filler on it but it isn't working. The floor is not rigid as it should and I'm afraid I'm gonna sitdown one day and fall through.
Any ideas on how to fix it( I know welding), any other suggestions.
BTW how much would welding cost?

Any help will be appreciated.

Matt

only good fix is to cut around the rust and weld a good strong piece of sheet metal in from the top.
