on the car itself where the t-tops lock into...the little post hole. those can be adjusted. take of the plastic covers and loosen the assembly and move them closer to the ground but make sure the door can still close with the window up. tighten and check for rattles then put the plastic back on.

ummmm thats not the problem, its the t tops themselves that are rattling. the locking mechanism inside of the T top is whats moving around how could i cushion it from the little brackets inside that keep it aligned and in place?

Its the handle and mech. that is rattling. Mine does the same thing. Normally if you lock the t-top with the key and pull the handle out until it is tight against the lock it will stop. That is if you have locking t-top panels.

he probably does not have locks...
Try taking apart the T-top trim piece and look to see if there is something to be tightened, or maybe worn out... I actually have a set of those tops that are no use to me...

probably no help to you, but anyone who has an aftermarket tee-top from C&C company can try what I did. I took the plastic piece from the car itself where the little pins fit the car. On mine there was only a bare hole where the pin fits into. I went to a local rubber outlet and got little rubber grommits to fit the whole. I also trimmed off the little plastic bits on the plastic bit that covers the hole. Put it back together and now no more bumps and bangs. Like I said this is from the C&C aftermarket tee-top company that was installing a lot of tee-tops on cars during that period.
