1986 T/A hood extractor question
I was just curious, just how functional are the rear extractors on these hoods?I am thinking of induction system based on them.I'm not for sure how much air they pull from the engine bay.Would it be possible to use for a different purpose?

I'm not a G.M. engineer but, I don't think they are very functional mostly cosmetic, I'm sure they let a little air through but I dont think its alot. I thought about using the scoops on the front of the hood but I am worried about rain and such, may still try something at some point.

Actually I was wanting to go off the rear ones due to the fan shroud on mine(clutch fan setup).I thought I might fab an intake track out of .062 alum. and then finish out the rest of it with plastic hoses or mod some other intake parts from other vehicles. As far as the water problem I though about drilling holes on the underside of the to let it drain.I would have to make the enclosure before I can figure what kind of filters I'm going to run on it.
