You might try putting a rubber boot over the distributor cap (like the 5.0 Mustangs had from the factory).

Or just keep a can of WD-40 in the car & if the dist. ever gets wet, spray the bejeezus out of it.

heres and idea

try a piece of sheet metal of plastic with some weather stripping wraped around the edge so its a tights fit. Add a handle or **** so you can pull it off. Of course if you use metal prime and paint it to match the car. Just an idea.

What kind of cowl? If it's a high end one, all you need to do is put the factory weather stripping on it and your set.

its a 4inch hood, i was thinking of along the lines of the sheet metal, then cutting a hole just for the air cleaner, then have the rest closed, and have it seal with the places were the stock hood laid

Hey Squeaks, i have the same hood and am debating on how to get it on. Can you send me a pic of how yours is or some commentary on where your pins are, etc. And how you keep it from rattling. Thanks man!

sure, if you want ill give you my web shot picture page addy so you can check it out, the way im keeping it from rattling is by getting some more of those rubber bumpers that are on the fron and putting them on the back, then just using locking hood pins so no one can jack it
