Trans Am Nationals!!!

Since this is the body and interior section its probably best suited for here. Since it does involve Custom 3rd gens at the nats...

Went to Dayton this weekend and participated in the T/A nats, a really good time. Met some of you that was nice to put a face to a nickname. I got stuffed into a class that I really did not belong, but I really did not expect to win so I did not care...

I must mention, I hope I do not spoil her surprise, but...

CONGRATS to redraif, she took 1st in our class!!!

Hey Okfoz, it was great meeting you and Bluebird! I really think they need to reorganize the classes at the nats; your car is extremely nice, esp the interior, but definitely didn't belong in a full custom type class. Neither did the kid in the white convertible, or the one in the red 'bird with the ram air hood.

I agree, the 92 Hawk (the green one that belongs to Bruce Hawkins from Hawk's Thirdgen) is VERY nice...I liked his LS1 Formula, too (got to ride in it Saturday night!)

such is life, I didn't mind about the class thing, I went to look at the f-bodies, and get some ideas for next year

Honestly next year might turn into 2 years, because next year is the 100th Anniversary of Buick, and the Buick National show is going to be here in Buick City (Flint)... gotta get the 67 Riv in order... I am planning on attending the '03 T/A nats tho...

Thanks Okfoz! I love your interior!

There were some nice, nice cars up there. I agree that they need to take a serious look at how they split up the classes. At any other show, you have to have serious mods (like shaving) or custom paint (like candy apple) to be thrown into custom. IMO yours should have been in the modified class. It seems everyone with a hood ended up in our class, too. An aftermarket hood does not a custom car make. The guy with the red firebird only had a sound system and hood. He had a few painted pieces and camaro seats, but that was it. Definately not custom.

They go to the point of counting stickers and colored plug wires as modifications. I think you can't have over X amount or you are in custom. I think 1/2 our cars on this board would be custom by their standards.

Still it was a great show. Lots of work, but fun. It was great to meet you and bluebird!
