its been done before, I know that, but the work involved, I am not sure, It might be a straight swap or it might not...
That front end with the power buldge hood looks kick azz though, so your car would look kickin' if you keep that hood

Yeah I heard that combo looks good too. I did a search and I couldn't find much useful information. I was also thinking about getting a Ram Air II hood, because those look sooooooo kick a$$!

yeah, thats what I meant
Yup, thats defiantly a 85-90 Sporte Coupe Nose!(and formula too) Should have noticed your name "83TransAm" and that your picture shows a later nose
Also it would propably be using finding a 85-90 Trans Am "specific" nose than a GTA nose, since it the SAME thing! And if you say "GTA style, that could also refer to the 91-92 GTA's which are a totaly different nose!
Here is a 82-84 Trans Am nose:

Hey Maverick,
What exactly do you mean by a lot of wrench work? Was there a lot of modifications that you had to make or just a lot of bolts to screw in. I don't think that my nose is a different one because I have seen sales brochures for 83 firebirds/trans ams/etc. with that kind of nose on it. You could be right though, because the rims were also changed so who knows.

Quite a few nuts/bolts that are a PITA to access.
'85 was the 1st year (to my knowledge) for the current nose on your car.

There's a bunch of nuts and bolt but you could definately do it in a few hours, and yes everything should align perfectly.

83transam what does your rear bumper look like does it have the bumper with the black inserts are is it smooth? I agree with everyone that is not the right nose for pre 85, that is the nose my 89 formula has on it. It should align up without any problems, I have been thinking about doing it, if you do the ground effects also you may have to drill holes in your finder though, depends on the ground effects, just get all the mounts from the parts car.
