Well, by the looks of the sig. the car is producing enough power, so the scoop was needed. Due to the situation at hand, I give it a Why? Because there isn't a smiley for 2.
I wanted a scoop, but my car doesn't have the ***** to back it up.

The scoop was needed when i tryed to close the hood with no aircleener and the carb hit At the time i had no idea what to do so i just choped a hole in the hood big enough for a 14" air cleener. I found this company called Unlimited and they sold these things so for $170 my prob was solved. Oh yea this is the reson for the scoop.....

Well, that's no good reason for a scoop...just an air filter. I figured there was a supercharger under there. Now that I found this out, I say take it off or supercharge that beast.

The air cleaner isnt the prob the intake manafold is. It is a holly strip dominator and is way too high. Without the aircleaner on the carb hit the hood. I figured if i had to put some kind of scoop on i should get a big air cleaner too. As for the supercharger... it wouldnt work. I am running 11.5-1 pistons and this makes a supercharger allmost usless because i couldnt run it with any boost.

Welcome to the club. Your scoop looks way better than mine though. I was hitting my 750 on top of a Performer RPM on my bird. That's just no good. I cheaped out even more than you, my A&A Jegs special was only $50. LOL

Are you going to make a pan and seal it? That's my next step. I can't quite back up the power like you yet. I have the cam and carb to do it, but not the heads or intake. The intake that I have now was free, and I already have a port job for heads going this winter. After $150 I should be right up there. Oh well enough about me. When are you going to get the car sprayed?

Hopefully ill get some paint on that beast before december, I still have to weld new bottom door edges on and shave the handles I was thinking about a pan to seal the scoop to the carb but im not sure i want to do that.

Just do it when you want to cruise and then plug the scoop and run a standard filter when it rains/sits (hopefully it never rains on that car). Do you have problems seeing the road making rights too?

I have a plug for the scoop that came with it. I use it when it rains. The reson I dont want a pan is it makes more under hood heat and i like things cool.

About the vision thing... It becomes a pain in the *** when you are on a busy street and a lot of people are crossing you cant see them unless you put your head on the passengers lap. When making right turns I cant see to good either so i just close my eyes and hope for the best jk.

Why do you hope it never rains on my car? Its water proof and the T-tops dont leak.
