Question for convertible owners
I've seen some pics of the interior of a convertible and notice that there is no plastic holder for the shoulder belts attached to the seats. Is this correct? How does this work out that they don't slide off your shoulder? Is it that they are coming from a lower start point than coupes they just are more tense?
Thanks....
Thanks....

Car: 88 IROC convertible, 88 Sport Convertible---both RED
Engine: 350 TPI in the IROC, 305 TBI in the Sport
Transmission: 700R4 in both
my '88 IROC doesn't have any holders/clips, etc on the seats for the shoulder belt. It is coming from a lower point and just sort of lays across your shoulder on top then 'gently falls' down your chest
it is a real pita to locate sometimes when you sit down nearly have to turn around in the seat to do it....so you can buckle up....remember
'es la lay' (it's the law... )
lewisville cops are bad about seat belt checks aren't they ????

Previous owner took them off of my 87 T/A so he could put seat covers on and the seatbelt kinda rides on my lower neck where it meets my shoulders, kinda annoying when it's hot out.

Just do what I do... Don't wear it! lol
Actually if you look at most independent studies you have a higher probablity of surviving a rollover crash in a convertible without wearing a seatbelt. Why you may be asking? Because you get thrown way the H*** out of the way instead of getting smooshed
You are also something like 75% more likely to be decapited in a convertible than in any other vehicle...
Hmmm... The risks we take just to look cool
If you wanted the restraints you could take seats from a fourth gen (with the upper seatbelt restraints already attached) than just upgrade to 4th gen seatbelts, I think there is a tech article on this site, but forget about getting anything in or out of the backseat.
Though you wont miss the shoulder holder. IMO
