I have an '89 GTA with the "Ultima" style seats. I believe every GTA from '87-'92, including all '91-'92 T/A 'verts, had these seats as well.

The particular part that I'm looking for is the large ABS plastic seatback shell behind the front seats that the rear-seat passengers face when riding in the car. The part that covers the back of the front seats which has the nylon netting attached to it for storage.

GM dealer says that the seatback shell has been discontinued since '99. They said the only seatback shells they now carry are the 4th gen '93+ style.

Hmmmmm. Okay. After looking at a brand new 2002 Ram Air T/A, I noticed that the seatback shells on it looked almost the same as mine. In fact, they looked exactly the same. What's the "actual" difference between the '87-'92 GTA and the 4th gen T/A style seatback shells?

I previously thought all 4th gen T/A's had the same front seats, except for headrests of course, as the '87-'92 GTA's. Dealer says no because the new part no's don't "crossreference" to the "discontinued" part no's on their computer system.

I smell a shell game being pulled on me from GM. LOL! Does anyone here know for sure? They sure look exactly the same to me.
