where's a good website that shows the procedures of painting...

I'm a beginner to this...not totally ignorant to it but I don't know alot.

I painted my camaro with silver and black with base coat clear coat. It turned out decent.

I sanded it down and did all the prep and body work. I got my buddy over to help spray it. It was his first clear coat base coat car.
He did ok.

Now I got a door from the junkyard and I'm wanting to paint it with an old hood I got.

I'm looking for a website that I can read up on this. Not so much body work but I want to learn how to mix the paint and spray. Something with some procedures.

I'm going to spray them off the car and then when I'm happy I'll put them on. Check out my website at the bottom.

thanks,
Shad Haynes

I'd also like to know some details about how proper prep work is done (ie Sanding, Priming, etc..)

Go to www.gr8ride.com , go to the car craft section and go to the tech-how to section and you'll find it.

I've done bodywork before too, but never shot my own "real" paint. I always used rattle can primers and paints and clears. I picked up the Paint & Body Handbook, from SummitRacing.com. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=1784',650,505,'HPBHP1082') It gives good info on paint types and guns and mixing and spraying and etc. Some fool from amazon.com was scared because the book showed old cars and how to work with lead in it.. get a laugh from him here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...329110-6632117
