I can't drive faster than 85
I need a new speedo for my 82 T/A. What years had the same guages so I can do a simple 85 to 140mph swap.
Isn't there something I can so instead of buying autometer guages??
Will an entirely new guage panel work in my car?
HELP!!!! I HATE 85!!!!!!

You might not like the answer to this. I don't believe there was ever a 140 mechanical speedo in the Firebird. 86 was the first year for the electric speedo in the Firebird, and I'm 99.44% certain that there was no 140 previous to 86 or 87. So... you'd have to convert to an electric speedo style, which isn't terribly difficult, but isn't an afternoon project either. You'd have to put the VSS in the trans, and tie it into the computer as well as the electric gauge.

I don't have a computer. I don't care what the speedo says 140 120 or otherwise, just more than 85.
Is there anyone out there who has an 82 with a speedo higher than 85mph. I know there is so I need to know, how did you do it!!!!!
One more time...
ARE THE GUAGE INLAYS INTERCHANGEABLE???
What years will work in my 82?

Notice the lack of a response? That's because they didn't have a mechanical speedo that went that high. Like I said in the previous post, you've got to convert to an electric speedo. Since you don't have a computer, it's not as hard as it would be otherwise, but still not a "bolt-in" per-se.

I don't think there was a speedo higher than 85 for that year. My 85 T/A had the same speedo as you. I think the only option is to install an aftermarket version.
