Gfx???

How hard is it to remove the ground effects on an '88 Trans Am? I would like it to look like they were never there when I'm done. Thanks,

Well, I have an '88 Trans Am. My ground effects are grey. The piece between the front bumper and the door, on the driver's side has a three inch crack in it. I would still like to know how hard it is to remove the gfx. If I get them off in one piece , I'll let you know, if you're still interested. What sounds like a good price to you? Thanks,
Matt S.

I know that the GFX on the Camaro is very very easy to remove, thats if your screws and underbody are in fair condition.
Mine are behond fair, so I cant take mine off, last I tried I cracked it.

I heard something about there being metal brackets holding up the GFX under the door. Not, just by looking, I can tell that the front and rear GFXs are pretty easy to take off, but I'm worried about the effects under the door. That seems a little complicated. Thanks, anyone know for sure?

Well I dont know how the gfx on the trans am are.
but on the camaro, to remove the bottom peices all u got to do is unscrew the screws on the inside of your door youll see on the side the screws, and than under there are about 5 screws for both, than they just slide em back and they come off easy.

You've got mail!
Also, anyone know about th FX under the doors? I think the front and rear ones won't be much of a problem, but I'm worried about the piece under the door. I think the fx will come off, but I think there's a metal bracket under there. Anyone know if that is just bolted on, or if it's welded. Please say it's just bolted. Thanks,

well me and my dad were going to grabb some ground effects off a trns am at this junk yard and we got one side off until we got to the doors, the braket isnt weled to the car but its like po riveted completely through the door. after we found that we figured it wasnt worht the efort so we stopped. but im sure that you could hack'em off with a hack saw i guess....but it could be somthing differnt but thats what i gatherd from my experience...

Yep, the brackets are tack welded for the camaro and firebird. Not too fun to take off, I would attempt to drill it out if you are really set on ditching them. The brackets stick out a good bit, you will see what I am talking about when you take the gfx panel off, it would look pretty hokey just leaving the brackets on there....
