I need a little help.

I remember that one member here has a camaro with a firebird radio pod and a firebird 4th gen console. I have both of those sitting in my room right now and i wanted to know how he got the firebird radio pod to fit in? if anyone can help me with this problem, please tell, o, also, how do i get the stock camaro bottom part of the dash off? I took it all out but one screw is under the dash alittle so i cant get it out. thanks

I have started the swap, maybe i might be the one your referring to, but there are a couple of us nowadays, so i dunno...

Are you talking about the driv side screw that goes upwrds in the dash? What exactly is your problem?

I have only drmeled out the area to fit the pod, sat it in there and bolted up the console. In my car, the console hold the pold in securly and in place, so I saw no need to bolt the pod up I will eventually though, just becuase...

The only other real thing i haven't down is mount the switches, they are in an old peice of the old console sitting in the ash tray, i plan on using my clear plexi glass and mounting a blue neon under there

What questions do you got?

If you plan on actually bolting up the pod, which is what i would recomend, then yes it will become a biatch.

If you don't plan on using the old console why not hack it up to get it out?

Once you get a Dremel and start to take out the dash (cuase you are going to have to) you see that there really isn't much back there to bolt on to. The old console is around ten inches wide and the firebird pod is around eleven, go figure... Also take in account the the pos will be at an angle, so the cut would have to be at an angle, not like it is now, its just straight.

The console isn't a problem, its the pod thats going to be fun. Also don't bolt the console down until you have the Pod in, I leaned that the hard way.

Anything else you want to know?
