Uh, you should ask this on the Suspension/Chassis/Brakes forum. This doesn't really have anything to do with bodywork or interior.
And actually, you should do a Search (that's the gray button on the upper right hand corner of this screen) in the Suspension/Chassis/Brakes forum, you'll find tons of information.

If you say so.
A) it would take me maybe an afternoon to do, and
B) it would cost me < $20, and
C) I'm willing to bet Kenny Brown doesn't have an STB that will clear an HSR intake...

Amen to that brother!
You don't have to make a fancy one out of round tubing. I wanna do mine out of square tubing. It'd be easier to work with and you could easily make a 3-point brace around any intake. Won't look too bad if you know what your doing. Good luck!

Well sorry i got ahead of myself, i meant that if one did not have the proper tools they could have a hard time making a nice strong one. but if one did have the correct tools to make a nice one then it would not be a waste of time by no means, go for it if you can, i know that at least i would have to buy one.

it REALLY would not be that hard, all you have to do is figure out where you want to mount it, AND if you can weld, your in. a little paint.
They are NOT that complecated. Pretty cool Idea if you ask me...

I think I would have to make mines also. Since my custom hood vent is in the way. Might interfere. (note: pic of hood in sig is very old its nicer now)

I agree with Jza.Me and a friend made a triangulated one which goes to the firewall, and I am very happy with it(tight fit). It's easy enough to do but I can see other people's point of view in that you need the gear to do it.It's all too easy to assume that everyone has the time, knowhow and equipment.I used a tubing bender from work(cheap enough to hire),a tubing notcher(easy to make),a press/plate bender(friend made it by welding a frame from a girder and a 20 ton bottle jack)and of course a mig welder. The cost of the materials is very inexpensive,I can't remember how much but it cost me £36($50) to make an 8-point cage out of 1"5/8(including the floor plates and enough tube to make another main hoop).Trust me when something turns out ok,you'll get the fabrication bug,and you won't be able to leave anything alone.Problem is the car isn't finished.

I just made my own strut tower brace out of 1" square tubing, .090 wall thickness. It works fantastic! Cost me a total of two bucks for bolts, nuts, and washers.
I am on my way to buy a digital camera (groan). I will take some pics and make a post in Chassis / Suspension, hehe. Gimme about 24 hours to figure out the camera and take the pics, Lol
Edit: I bought the camera, and think I have it figured out, but now it's dark outside =/ So, tomorrow pics will be good to go!
