Removing dash air vents
I want to remove the dash vents on my 88 Firebird to clean them out, but I can't figure out how to get the pass. side and driver's side vent directors out. I have done a little looking, and it appears that I will need to pull back the whole dash in order to remove these directors.
If anyone knows of another way to do this, please let me know soon because I will be trying this tomorrow hopefully.
Thanks
Tyler

That's what I was afraid of. I guess I will have to do that, or else fish something in through the directors, or else go in through the center vent. I think removing the whole dash is a lot of work for this little of a problem. I'll try my way, and if that doesn't work, I might have to do a little dash work.
Thanks for the help.

Have you tried blowing them out with a can of compressed air?
When my vents get dirty, I just blow them out with a can of Blow-Off and if the dust was too thick I've cleaned them out with a detailer's brush.
Hope this helps

Well, I think whoever had the car last didn't like taking the time to actually clean things. So they sprayed in there with the armoral or something. Because it is not a dry dust. It's kind of gooy and stuck to everything in there. I don't know if compressed air would work. I'd probably just use an air compressor to do it though. Has a lot more flow and dust removal abilities than a can. Anyway, thanks for the help. I figure, the air, a rag, along with a toothbrush and some WD-40 should pretty much take care of anything in there.
