spray paint the dash?

Has anyone done this? i know a guy who has and it looks nice but i dont know what type of paint he used. I have a nice can of red enamle paint that i used on the rear drums of my car and was thinking of painting just the part of the dash that goes around the guages, any thoughts on this?

If you can use vinal/plastic primer it'll stick and cover best. That way it'll wind up looking like a $5 job instead of a $.50 job. Either way... I'd advise against it. It's amazingly cheap looking. If you do decide to do it, I'd at least sand the bumpy finish off of the piece so it's flat and smooth.

I would not do it but to each their own. I saw this mustang the other day that had all kinds of panels painted on his dash and it looked really bad. I have painted my console black or should I say repainted it balck - the original color. That was a good thing. If you feel like doing it i would go to the junk yard and by the same piece, paint it, put it on. if I didn't like it I would still have the original part to put back on. better safe than sorry!
