Usually 5-10 seconds after I shut the driver's door, there's a sound like a rock hitting the window...it's really strange...almost like something is beginning to crack...and I have no idea what it is. Sort of makes me wonder if the glass is under some kind of extraordinary stress - but I can't picture glass binding or bending, just breaking - maybe it's in the door itself, I'm ignorant. Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks, all.

 

Is the door hard to close? Weird how you hear the sound 5-10 seconds after you close the door. Does it make this noise if the window's all the way up, all the way down, halfway up, etc? Does it depend on window position or something else?

 

Yeah, the door is always a bit of a challenge to close - it will close but remain 1/2" open with reasonable effort, and I have to really slam it to get it to shut all the way. This only occurs with the window all the way up. I think something's under stress...how WEIRD.

 

I had a similar problem in my '89... does your car have t-tops... there's a plasric piece that runs acrossed the bottom/outside of the t-top and one of mine dipped and when i shut the door it wouls get stuck and when it popped out it made a funny noise kinda like you described!
