Doors that are hard to close and annoying
I would like to make my doors close very easy. Does the pin adjust where the jam is or do I need to replace the whole mechanism. The driver side shut nice but the pass side you have to give it a good shove. I hate that, I am one of those people that likes to get by with closing the door as softly as possible and usually having to do it two or three times cuase I do it too soft...LOL. These doors are so heavy on these things it's no wonder they get like this. Help anyone!
Thank you in advance,

Thanks for that link Andy. That looks like an awesome kit. My doors don't sag though. I found this car in a field and it hadn't been drove for ten years so the hinges are solid on it. Maybe the pin is just not adjusted. I may spring for the kit anyhow cause from the sounds of it I will be replacing them in a few years anyhow.
Thanks again!

I bet they are sagging; that's how my door started. It was just a bit hard to close. Now you've gotta slam the thing! And because of repeated slamming, the metal around the striker bolt is cracking. It's not cracking around the bolt; the bolt's in there nice and secure. But the panel around the bolt, from flexing all the time, is starting to crack. I'll see if I can get a pic up later, if it's not still raining!

I waited about 3 years before I decided to fix my doors. Now the internals are all F'd up because of repeated slamming. The windowclips are busted, the doorlatch and handles need to be replaced, the list goes on, I'm willing to bet that half of my car's rattles come from the drivers door. Moral of the story... fix your doors, the pin kit makes it easy too.

Thats cool I would like to see that pic if you get a chance to post it. I think I will go for the kit anyway. The real weird thing is that it is my passenger side door that does it? The drivers side closes beautifully.

What little thing is that?
And yeah, it's my passenger side door, too. Figures; that's where everybody gets in. I -hate- saying "Oh, uh, sorry, you have to slam that door." It really takes away from the "my car is cool" feeling. I'll try to get a pic up over the weekend.
