Not hard at all; all bolts and patience. The entire job took about 4 hours.
1) Remove side plastic pieces.
2) Remove old front seats.
3) Remove old rear seats.
4) Remove console.
5) Remove seat belts from floor.
6) Lay in carpet (I did from the center outward).
7) Cut carpet where needed; put seat bolts in as markers.
8) Replace console.
9) Bolt in seat belts to floor.
10) Bolt in rear seats.
11) Bolt in front seats.
12) Replace side plastic pieces.

I realize that the front seats from the newer camaros can be bolted into an older one, but what about the rear seats? I have an 82 and found a nice pair of Charcoal leather seats from a 97, but I would like the rear to match, are they compatable?

You can get the seat belt guides for a convertible 4th gen from the dealer, costs about $7 for both. they will have the slit in the top so you can slide your belt into it.
Part numbers for the guides are,
16799317
16799316
Looks nicer than cutting it up.
