Window rattle cure?
I get this annoying rattle when the window is all the way down, I saw this on Ebay and I don't think I have them. Where do they go and how do you install them. Here's a pic.
I think they are called felt window guides.
Thanks

Those go directly under the trim panel on top of your door, from the inside. They greatly help keep the window in place (that in-and-out wobble when your door is open) but are only 1 of 7 different parts that guide and secure your window. Those are still available at Chevy parts counters for about $4 each.

I saw "window rattle" and immediately thought of those guides. Be careful when tightening them. Remember that your window is curved. Over tighten those when the window's down 1/2way, and you could scratch (or even crack?) your window.
Removing the door panel is a pain. You have to remove the armrest- and there are two torx screws (same size as the visible one, at the top of the armrest handle) underneath the armrest. You need to separate the door panel from the door, it's held on by the plastic trim clips. The clips have a ridge; try to use that to pry against. If you pry between the door metal and the door panel, you can rip the cardboard. You can buy a "door panel remover" for $5; looks like a big screwdriver with an angled "C" tip, at local parts stores like Pep Boys/AutoZone.
The top of the door panel, the black trim piece, is held on with three clips to the top of the door. The GM book says to simply "lift straight up". Yeah, right. It'll be a fight; it's best fought with the window all the way down. Try to get the back part of the black trim off first. Note that the inner window weatherstrip is held to the plastic trim panel with melted-over plastic stubs. Crack the inner window belt strip away from that top trim panel, and you can't reattach it easily.
Good luck!

My drivers side window started rattling a few weeks ago. I hate pulling those damn panels off, PITA. Can you get the guides from classic industries or is it only GM that sells them?
Thanks

I have found that if you just put it down enough so the window is still contacting the seals, it will hold it and keep it from rattling.
