Whoa, baby!!!
This rendering is in the new Super Chevy. This guy doesn't work for GM but he sure knows how a Camaro should look!!!
What do you folks think?
It looks to me like it's sneering at everything else on the road--just waiting for one of them to get out of line

I have that mag too, I would buy one of those in a heartbeat if they actually produced it, but since it looks so much better than their flagship Corvette, I bet GM would never produce it because they don't want any other car to outshine the Corvette.

That is to sweet. I just picked up the Super Chevy yesterday and i was speachless. Out of all the renderings i have seen, that is the best 5th gen i have seen. They should really think about producing that out of all renderings in production in a couple years.

HEll Yeah!! I don't know why I've always thought this, but I expect the 5th gens to be more of a nostalgic muscle car look. All the dudes that grew up in the late 60's and 70's have paid their dues, have cash stashed away, and would definately invest in a brand new muscle car that had a nostalgic look to it.
If no one else thought this, then we would not be seeing that new thunderbird on the road. And it looks bad ***.
I think whatever it is, its gonna have a big chrome grill and more of a stout front end look. That's what we all love. And as much as I hate to think about it, I wonder if its going to hold a v-8. Chevy will probably have to produce a line of hybrid cars just to keep that one in their fleet. They'll do it.
That's my 2-cents:lala:

and another thing I forgot to add....It won't be rounded like the 4th gens. Its gonna have more angular-cut defenition with a nose that comes straight out in front and doesn't slope off (like a Z06 does). Lets see if my predictions come true.

I saw a prototype of the new firebird in a pic from a car show. Pic was too small to really get a good look, but from what I saw, it looks super cool. Prob won't be production though. There is a car and driver magazine (april 2002). They depict the Pontiac Soltice...looks to be there next hi-performance car. Stock this car come with 6-speed trans, 2.2 L inline 4 that does the 1/4 mile in 13.2. It looks great but not a muscle car. Its a 2dr roadster that looks like a cross betweeen and old porsche and an ol datsun 280Z. Pretty interesting.
Though I've not heard anything about the monaro.

Get the new Motor Trend or go here MotorTrend Website to see the new Pontiac GTO, it's the Holden in Australia's "Monaro" with a LS1 motor, seems pretty cool, but that new Camaro rendering tops all!

5th gens
hopefully when they start camaro production up again in a few years(i really hope they will) they'll pull something like the tunderbird did & go back to its roots. nothing would be better than a new car at heart w/ the look of the gods.. (first gens) just my opinion...

that is a badass camaro!
Ironicly, i know some people that work in GM, and they overheard execs talking about bringing the camaro and firebird back, in a retro 60's look. (much like how the mustang has a retro look to it now, yet modern as well, same principle).
As to answer the question about whether the firebird would be brought back if the camaro was...the way GM works things, it most certainly would. The camaro might be seen as a threat to the corvette if they don't put out a similar model only badged and packaged a little different. but i guess who knows...i mean i've read in a magazine that the firebird wont be back, but from my friends that work at GM, they said both r coming back.

I have always thought that if they would bring back the old cars, 74 and older novas, maro's and birds but put new tch in them they would sell like hot cakes. Just think, 454 TPI that handles, gets decent gas milage, with the old look. Since we can beat the mustangs on the road, now we can do it in the dealerships!! It would just be nice to see the true pontiac motor come back. As long as they don't do to the maro/bird that they did to the monty and the Impala, we should be in good shape. And for the most part, the 1/4 panels on the mustange are the only thing that really looks like the 60's.
