convertible question
i saw a z28 convertible outside the safeway by my ouse today, sorry i dont know the year or anything.
My question is were the convertibles 2 seaters? cuz this one was,or maybe just a big metal thing folded over where the seats would be or something, but i think it had like an electric top on it...which is what i think the metal lid thing where the seats would be is.The trunk area definetely looka a lot longer on it than a normal thirdgen.
Any info would be great,it just didnt look normal to me.

Its mostlikley around 1984 or so. The car you saw wasnt a factory convertible, but an aftermarket conversion. There are quite a few of these cars floating around, most are in rough condition. You were right about it being a 2 seater, as the entire hatch lifts up. Most people dont like them all that much, but I for one like it! Search the History and Restoration boards, there were a few posts with pictures about them!

I know it's not your car, but do you happen to have, or know of anywhere I could see some more pics of that. I would love one of those painted deep blue w/ a fat white stripe going up the middle (think vette grand sport ). I really like the way that thing looks.

last one, you could always use the pics and photoshop teh pics and make it look however you want. and as for the rarity, i believe they're not that desirable since they were aftermarket jobs not certified by GM, meaning that anyone could go to a convertible place and have them fabricate the piece to make it into a roadster, but who cares they still look sweet
