Steering column question...
Hey, I am trying to find out why its so hard for me to turn my lights from bright to dim, and I think I have found the problem. There is a cover piece, and a piece that is attached to the steering wheel that are by the light dimmer switch. Everytime, I go to change from bright to dim, these two parts push out from the steering column(they are cracked). If I hold them down and change from bright to dim, its easy to change from bright to dim. So I am pretty sure that is the problem. My question is how do I replace this thing, the cover isn't a problem, it just pops off. Do I have to take off the steering wheel to replace the thing behind the cover? Go to the link to see a pic.

The link dosn't work. There is a rod in there that pushes a switch (it's a white box kinda thing) down at the bottom of the colum. The rob may be snapped (i doubt it is though), the switch could be broken, or one of the peices in there. Take the steering wheel and lock plate off and take a look. You should be able to tell what the problem is.

Ok. You gonna have to take the steering wheel and lock plate off plus a few bolts that are inside to replace that peice that broke. Follow the presedures in the manual to take the steering wheel off. I've never done it on a car with an air bag.
Here's an exploded view of the column.
86 is the switch I refering to before and 81 is the rod.
