how do I stop this stupid rattle?
hey all
my car has this horrible rattle since I put the new motor in 15000 miles ago, actually, its not horrible, but it is annoying.
the push button on the parking brake lever rattles at all engine RPM and unless I blast the stereo all the time, its going to drive me slowly insane.
all i have to do is lightly rest my thumb on the button and it stops, I was thinking of using super glue or something, but if I needed to use the E-brake I dont want to have to fight the glue.
thanx

I took the plastic handle off and put some felt on the inner metal and slid the handle back on. Maybe some felt where the button hits the case on the inside of the handle would stop that.

take off the handle theres only one screw then wrap the back half of the black button with electrical tape. replace the handle and everyone should be happy. atleast until you hear your t tops start to squeek

I fixed it, kinda messy though.
Took off the handle and put some 5 min. epoxy on the bottom of the inside of the handle. After it dried up I filed it down so the handle will slide back on to the ebrake. No more rattle anymore and the ebrake works fine.
