Neon Neon Neon

finished wiring it all up. They're on the bottom edge of the seat in the vents, the pedals, and around the deck. Also i put a new gear selector on. Also, the headliner is made up of a black fabric layered with a blue plastic meshing... it looks better in real llife

on another note, i have 10 ' (2x5') of blue light wire, but don't klnow where to put it.... should i outline the console plates, or go around the back speaker covers??? i'm torn between the two.

To each his own... I would recommend complimenting it with some interior light modifications from Macewen .

I don't like interior neon much.. only if its under the dash and you cant see the bulbs.. but when you surround the radio or anything with it, it looks tacky. But, its your car so if you like it, thats all that matters.

Yea the radio thing is tacky i agree, but rice sells. and that's the idea. It's all a means to an end. the end being a stronger faster camaro.

Anyways, as for the lightwire????

please, if those are hood LED's

do take them off. they are, and will only be for ricers and im sorry bro. but if you know who i am then you know ive always been open to new ideas//////// JUST CLICKED PIC, i think those are switches on your Dome light? exellent job, except please get better pics.

Great Job and Way to go.

i second the Macewan idea,
the interior strand never came out well, ive yet to see it, even look at streetglows site, they are digi photos.

maybe if you take your speedos apart kinda, the plastic piece and put the strand over the top of it alone, not around the whole thing, but jsut the top.

:lala: im tired. :lala:

I just got some decent pics of my interior neons. Just so you know, I don't drive around with them on. They are just for shows. They really look neat with the red glow they put out. Sad thing is that I wish we had more evening or indoor shows so they would show up better.

firebreatha, what are hood led's???? I'm not sure what your referring to. I only have the pedals, vents, deck, and front of the seats.... The blue lines at the top are a reflection off the dash

Redraif, I just have to say that what you have done to that car is amazing. I may not have the taste for all of it, but that's a heavily modified car...especially the interior. Many of your mods (like the accent lights under the seats) I think are quite tasteful and lend some uniqueness to an otherwise base firebird. Way to go on the customization and best of luck in the future car shows. I hope I travel the country enough one day to see it in person.

HamsterOnaMission: I can't say I like what you've done to that camaro. However, the accents on the top of the seats lend something different to the interior without being extreme. I'm just hoping that those accents aren't from that mass of neon wire around the radio. I've always thought that the hidden approach was best (except in Redraif's case...she went all out with it). The idea another guy stated about putting the lights around the speedo/tach is a good idea. A clean look. But remember that neon lights are known for introducing distortion into stereo signal. Having the lines that close to your head unit could be detremental if you're not prepared. Good luck on it and one last thing...those neon wires will not ever make it "a stronger faster camaro"

lol, no the 'stronger faster camaro' is my other car, i'm selling the blue one to make cash to put into it. i picked the (blue) car up for 100$ (see link in sig and check body resto) and have spent $1100 as well as 2 years on the restoration and paint. I plan to sell for around $5000 CDN you can do the math on that. I also prefer the hidden aproach, but what the ricers want, they shall recieve, since they are my intended customers in this case.

My other car is destined for street performance, but i need cash.... get it????

PS Stay tuned for oversized alluminum wing.....
(just kidding really.... the double shelf wing looks much better..... no seriously i am kidding)

PSS. And again i ask.... where would you put the rice rope (neon wire)???

PSSS. Sure, hail me for saving this car from the boneyard :hail: .... but don't use stones!!!! for shame!!!!

PPSSS. Can we get some more smilies on this board??? i was at my freinds tempo ( :lala: ) forum... and they have 50..... how can we as chevy owners let this mockery of justice continue any longer ...

ok i'm done.... the rant is finished.... please tune in next time.

PPPSSS. Send help quickly

Redraif- The neons under the seats look cool.. I like when all you can see is a glow. But when you can see the bulb, like outlining stuff, I think that ruins it. But, its your car, and a show car at that so more power to ya.

Hamster - You're proud of it and like it and thats what counts. In this case, I agree. I like the blue glow.

RedRaif - Maybe not everything you do is my style, but I'll bet all t he pictures I've seen of your car just don't do it justice, it probably is amazing in person. Things just don't always look the same in pictures, you know?

Hamster, I think it looks pretty damn good. Nice, clean install. Good job.

Redraif... no offense, and Im sure you put alot of time into them, but they look terrible IMHO. If they were more discreetly hidden and installed, I think they MIGHT look good.

The strings in question were not glued down at the time (t-top). The others are about as straight as it gets. The sail panel blured on me and the others are following the lines of the car. When I got the neon I thought it would hold its shape better. All this hot and cold really messes with it. I had them tacked down in the edges and it must have let lose (t-top). I was waiting to get a glue that I could remove in the future if necessary before I want all out. I have some stuff now that should be strong enough to hold it w/o destroying the panels or neon if it has to come off in the future. So glue it is.

Uh, boys...Hardly. I'm a female, thank you. And since I'm not gay(pun intended), I'm not putting neon’s on my car to get the attention of girls or guys.

As I said before... the car is a "show" car. It was done for the neon contests at car shows... That's why there are so many neon’s. I've got 2 underbody kits that will be hooked up for a show in TN at the end of June. Some of you "guys" need to read when I type things.

So yes, its going to be bold and less discreetly hidden. But, If you had noticed, all of the neon’s are run in natural channels of the cars paneling. So for string lights, you can't get more discreet than that.

Just to really tick some of you off, I even have strobes in my turnsignals...front, side, rear. A total of 6 pairs. Again they are for neon contests and shows. That's the only time they are on, with the exception of direct requests. I don't drive around with them on.

So you know, I shot the pics with 800 speed film, no flash, and in night mode. The shutter speed was very, very slow. Hence some blurring. I had to breathe and the tripod is messed up. So the neon is very bright, brighter than normal in fact.

Oh and I wouldn't pay Pep Boys ridiculous $s anyway. They so overcharge.

mike1986fyrbird and nndestiny thankyou for the compliments........it is greatly appreciated.

FiReBReTHa, why would you need to know my jacking points??? if it is because of the neon, they don't change. remember mine is a 91 so it has the lower aero gfx package that allows me to run them by the frame rail and the gfx's do a good job of hiding them! try hiding 3 sets with sbfc's on the car........that's alot of fun. if your having problems email me and i would be happy to help you out.

your name says it all!!!!I have neons on my 92 TA.Are you gonna talk sh*t about me now??Let me try to explain this to you people that don't stray from factory original.Modifications are made to ones car to make it look LESS like everyone else's ride. Why have a car that looks like the same cars that you see everyone and their mother driving??Do what you want to your car.You pay for it,you work on it,you take pride in it!!Why spew negativity about other people's rides just cause you wouldn't do it to yours? All he asked for was an opinion NOT a sh*t talking forum. All you had to say was yeah man I like your car OR no I really didn't like it.That is it.See how easy.JMO

I like the neons, but personally i don't like the outlining of the sail panels and all that.....I have a Turquoiuse Neon Underbody Kit from Street Glow on my car and i called it quits after that(maybe in my sub box one day)

I think they are cool, if it's for shows, then go all out....

MetalliCamaroRS i typically don't post pics of any real detailed kind, i couldn't get it to really show up on film even if i tried..........thankyou for the comments though.

most of you should understand that neon when taken with pictures very seldome ever comes out looking nice. case in point with the interior neons above or even mine when indoors.......during shows that you can actually use them or in person they are a very nice way to bring attention when done tastefully...........to jump and point fingers when you haven't seen it in person is not only wrong; but pointless.

anyone who is truly interested in how to install, purchase, or any other likely info please feel free to email me as i will be happy to help out in any way possible.

cheer on England when they play Argentina on wed.
Not from TN, just going to a show there. Now I know you don't pay attention. Says GA plain as day below my avatar. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't waste my time hating people over opinions. Everybody has differing opinions. If the car is so horrible why to I keep winning at shows. At the F-body Gathering here in Atlanta, Memorial day weekend, I was first in Full custom. At the Super Chevy Show this weekend I got first in the Modified Conversion Class. So its all in how you see it.

GA, TN, AL,... all the same to me. you all have anoying accents and marry your cousins... big deal. anyways.. im not hateing on it. people posed the question of " do you like it" well... im backing my opinion of why.

and you won a prize for "full custom"?? ahahhaha k that category in itself just sounds funny, not to mention kind of insulting to you.
Full custom, as in you bought every hideous thing and put it on your car? or Full custom as there is a certain theme for being "Full custom"??

to nndestiny:

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHA whao.. man do you ever need a proctologist right now! if you get more uptight than you are right now.. you might start crapping diamonds..
easy there big guy

but i must say i DO NOT like a factory car that looks like everyone else's. I cant stand something stock, but in the same time, i take time and pick and choose what to modify with taste and tact.

my style is nice "wheels"(i hate it when people call them rims) clean smooth lines to the car(no big gay spoilers or stripes, throaty but not overbearing exhaust, and a clean conservative interior.

so im not hateing on anyone.. some one asked.. i replied.. too bad you dont like the reply but dont loose sleep over it.

That is just an ignorant thing to say to someone that you don't know b/c you don't like their taste

you really do need to start reading a bit closer-- GUY i don't think so--Most people catch on by reading my name that i am a girl--and for the record- i am not being stuck up --i am being realistic-- just b/c you are a pi**Y person does not mean that you should lash out at everyone else.

Now I'm a terrorist. You must be on drugs. That's just plain stupid. Oh... now a Star wars analogy, what do you live in your parents' basement or something. Grow up!

Oh, and before you keep spouting you mouth off with futher lame thoeries on Southern inbreeding...I'm not a blood Southerner ok, Mr. Pedigree Police. My parents are from MI and my extended family lives there and in CA. Not that where I'm from has anything to do with neons. Man you find weird things to get hung up on. As for an accent, most people think I'm from CA., due to my lack of any accent.

"im not hateing on it"... What does that even mean, hating on what? Work on your English man.

And how does insulting the fact that I live in the south back up an opinion of why you feel neons are...what did you say....? Man, I even have trouble finding opinions in the slew of insults. Boy, you sure have a robust way of expressing your opinion.
Oh here we go... "gay things", "Neon Crap", & "ugly neon lighted car". I have yet to see you back up your "opinion of why".

Why would I be insulted by being put in a class for a "custom" car? Its an honor to be in that class. Street rods are "full customs". Custom is normally for the cars that have more professional types of mods. Body mods like my shaved handles, shaved gas filler, and shaved antenna... typically put me in custom class. All you have proven is what little you know about shows. Now winning takes a super clean car with "well" executed modifications. The only thing I have ever been faulted on at a show is the fact that 70% of the paint is 10 years old. The car is driven daily and it has begun to take its toll.

A theme for "full custom"??? Huh???

A little about shows. Usually classes are broken down into types of cars: Domestics, Imports, Trucks. Then they are futher broken down by the make & model if the show is large enough. If it is a specialty show, it is usually broken down by model and year. From there you have 3 catagories: /Stock (Conservative)/, /Modified (Mild)/, & Custom (Wild).
Super Chevy's classes were a bit different: Stock, Street, and Modified. Some shows split cars into the catagories by # of mods, some by types of mods.

So get an idea about what you are talking about before you try lay insults. You either totally misunderstand or don't read what people write and you think insulting people is somehow cool. Amazingly you, sir, sound like the inbred ******* idiot you are trying to say I am.
