radiator support??

I have a 86 iroc that is hit in the front. The hood/rt. fender are damaged and have been removed. The front nose piece was just cracked due to how the car hit in the accident. I have all the stuff out that got damaged, but the radiator support is bent. I was wondering if there is anywhere to buy these at? anyone know?

Thanks,
Mike.

Find one at a salvage yard is all I can think of...

I had a similar problem when a tow truck (don't ask...) bent my radiator support b/c the dumbass thought it was my crossmember and lifted my car with it I fixed it by hammering it back down in place with a dowel rod from above and by pulling it back in place with a comealong, anchored off the rear axle. I don't know if you're up for re-shaping it back into place this way (took me a couple hours to get it back where I wanted it), but this will save you some time. Just be careful around the radiator/condensor/transmission fluid lines/etc!!

Radiator support

I had to replace mine after a collision with the rear of a '86 Blazer in the rain {hence the replaced and primered front cap in the pics in my signature}. I know exactly the piece you are talking about. They have a company that sells replacment parts here in New Orleans. I believe they are a national company based out of Utah. Their website is www.certifit.com I had ordered a radiator support from them some time back and brought it to a body shop to have welded in. I remember buying from Certifit because the price was a lot better then the Dealer at the time. Maybe goto their site and see if there is a location near you or maybe call them for a calatog, I know they carried them a few years back. Also you may want to try www.nextgenparts.com or www.paddockparts.com. or www.classicindustries.com

Jay, if you remember, about how much did you pay for that Certifit radiator support?

LOL.......... Good thing I keep every reciept. I pulled the reciept dated 4/9/97. I paid 48.95 for the support and also 48.95 for the support beam that the headlamps bolt to. The part numbers on the reciept are:

CHCM50F0 - 82-92 CHEVY RADIATOR SUPPORT
CHCM25GO - 85-92 CHEVY CAMARO FRONT REBAR

Hope that helps.

Also, they have a phone number on the reciept thats toll free for the store here in New Orleans. Email me if you need it.

I'm sorry, I was mistaken in my earlier post. The upper tie bar is the upper part to the radiator support that the fan shroud bolts onto not the headlamp bar.

Think about hunting down a parts car, it might wind up to be cheaper.
