Part Question
Ok, I just had a power window motor put in my car today. I was a big fat chicken and didn't do it myself. I have this problem with missing body parts after I attempt a rapair job. But anyway. Here's the question. I got it home, and shut the door, and heard a thump. I shut the door again, and heard the thump again. I checked the window, and everything worked fine. But I wanted to find out what the thumping was. I took my door panel off, and felt in the bottom of the door. I pulled out this twirled up piece of steel, with a crook at the end of the swirl. What the heck is this? Does it even belong here, or did my repairman have a sick sense of humor? Any info or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

part in question is very likely the window regulator counterweight spring.
