Car kit, totally changing camaro appearance? read and reply.
I once seen a camaro, Z28 and I think it was a 85. It had some serious body kit changes on it, and it totally looked like an exotic import worth over 100k. I was wondering, do you guys know of any of these kits? How much do they run? how do they hook up? Where do you buy them? if you have some pics please post them, I seen one once, and it was AWESOME as can be! I understand my car will never look like the one I seen, but do they make some kits that change it enough to where people look at it and say " what the heck is that "? I have always liked to be different, and here is my chance, let me know what you guys think, and post some pics, and add all the info you can!! thanks!
Nate
p.s. I am in need of a 3.42 posi rear, if you know of one yell LOUD!

No, not you, the original poster just started what will undoubted end as a flame war. You know, you've seen the "debates" before about kit cars and whether or not they're considered...dare I say it... rice.
Steve
Just for the record I think they're cool and are no longer considered F-bodies; they're just GM F-body "frames"...

Hey, I dont want to start any war! I was just saying a statement. The car I seen looked so awesome, it looked like it was worth so much money, and it really only had 10k in body kits if that, which makes it ALOT cheaper than most exotic sports cars, know what I mean? I am not trying to be a *****, or to say we should all buy one, i was just stating what I seen, dont take it further then it is please!

That is pretty cool, Its amazing how people can get one design and totally change it around to another. It doesnt even look close to a camaro. On these kits, are they new panels? such as door panels, fenders, etc? or do they just somehow connect to the car using some other method? Who sells these? Ive been doing car research for a long time and never seen a company sell them. For the most part, it is VERY pricey as I can see, but with this, people just let their imigination fly, its cool how people think of different things.

Both kits above as with most kits, have you replace the fenders, hood, front bumper cover, everyhting from the windshield forward. The door pieces and rear quarter pieces are "bonded" to the originals. The taillights and housing for them are of course replaced as is the rear bumper cover. Door locks have to be relocated as do most headlight systems on these "kits".
I have been doing research for a very, very long time as well and have compiled to the best of my knowledge the most complete source of "body kits/gfx/spoilers" around. That can be found here, just browse the descriptions I included. https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=68549
The "Turborossa" above is no longer available, but coincidentally it was made by the same company as the other kit above. Here are some more pics of "kit cars" that are no longer available (except the first pics, but door panels are no longer available), but all built on 3rd gen F body platforms.

Car: too many ...
Hey howzit ... yeah there are a few kits that fit on 82-92 camaro fbody's but unfortunately nobody on these message boards can stand it when we try to talk about it. Usually we get a post going and everyone who dosnt like it flames us and then a board mod closes the topic because its a 'flame war'. Well if you want info on the Kit pictured above (the K1 Evo) you can do a search on the boards and find many posts with lots of pics, new ideas, and even some specs. If you want to check out the company's website its @ www.k1-styling.sk yeah the kit was designed in the Slovak Republic but is distributed to America via a different company (cant remember). As it stands now, K1 is comming out with a new version of the kit (version 2) so if you want the original it will now be made special order for $7k instead of $6k. That kit is a full body replacement will fiberglass replacement panels. After you install it the car weighs in at around 2900 pounds (WAY LIGHT) witch is another reason I want to do it. For my project I plan to take a 91-92 Z28, swap in a rebuilt 96+ LT1 with a custom intercooled turbo setup, use a T56 6 speed, all new drivetrain, rearend, suspension, basically everything and cover it all with that kit. Just like you said, way cheaper than the normal exotic looking car. My total price will be around 35K invested over 2 years. Some people think I'm crazy or stupid or whatever, but I know what I want. I want a K1 Evo rolling on 18's pushing 800+ hp terrorizing every expensive car on the road.
