About the car.... It is a 1991 5.7 in Dark Green Metallic. I acquired it in January 2021 out of Nevada. It originally is from Wisconsin, but was brought to Oregon in 2001. In 2010, it was sold to the gentleman I purchased it from while he lived in Arizona. He is a pilot for American Airlines, and took it with him when he transferred to Nevada until I purchased it this year. It has been pampered most of it's life, but still driven. It currently has just over 75K miles on the clock, and has a few paint chips from being driven, but overall is in nice condition. The body is laser straight and the underside is very clean. I have attached some additional photos. Thank you again for the nomination.

Re: August 2021 COTM "Open Season" **Voting Thread**
I thank you for the chance to compete in COTM but the truth is that my '90 Formula is in no way any way near my competition in being clean, etc. For what it is worth, I bought the '90 Formula off of the Firebirds for sale thread, something pulled me back to the boards right before my 52nd birthday, I saw the Formula and knew I had to have it. According to CompNine, it's one of 5 cars with its particular color scheme, T-tops, black cloth interior and the LB9 / MM5 powertrain. It is also equipped with all the go fast goodies like dual cats, four wheel disc brakes, engine oil cooler, and a 3.45 geared limited slip rearend. The interior is near mint, the headliner is starting to fall somewhat and one of the previous owners put in a trailerpark Kraco stereo system with sub box in the rear cargo well and left all the wiring hanging down under the driver's dash. The driver's window and rear window are tinted so dark I can't see out of them at night. There's a badly peeling red, white and blue "NO FEAR" decal at the top of the rear window and the AC needs converting and recharging. The wipers bump but don't wipe. When you turn the parking lights on, the headlights come up as well. Cosmetically, there's some light rub on the decal package, some light damage to the driver's side rear quarter behind the fender, and the clear coat has come off of the rear bumper. It's a 20/20 car as in at 20 feet away and 20mph faster than you, it looks mint. Up close I've got some work to do but with me owning the car only 3 weeks, working 3 jobs in Covid times, and it raining every single $#@*! day down here in the Deep South, I've had ZERO time to do more than make a few notes of how I'm going to start to work on the car. She's all stock except for some unknown (at this time) super loud cat-back system that I really enjoy putting my foot into. I've had many TAs, IROCs,
and Formulas before, even the 350cid powered models, and I can say that this LB9 / MM5 is probably the fastest stock Firebird I've ever put my foot into. It's a lot of fun to drive but as for being a COTM candidate, I'm not so sure it even qualifies.
If you still want info on the car and still consider an unrestored rare find a candidate for COTM, let me know and I'll take more pictures but if not I have no problem bowing out of the contest to what is obviously a much more qualified candidate for the award.

Black Echo it is really nice to hear your honesty on your car. Most of the time it it just the opposite of you. Pictures can only show so much, owners can tell you much more. For this reason I sometimes vote for the owner. Sounds like you have some work to do!

Yeah, but it's work I don't mind. When people ask me where they can get a third-gen, I ask them if they're prepared to learn a lot they didn't know (including new examples of profanity), to get frustrated, to threaten to sell their car (and change their mind) a hundred times, and to accept entire seasons worth of busted knuckles and raw fingers. If the answer is "no" then I tell them a 3rdGen isn't for them. All the car really needs right now is probably paint, a wee-bit of body work, and decals. I'll probably go with aftermarket shocks, struts and springs, the tires are brand new. Going to refinish the factory wheels and the other little stuff like the wipers, AC and swapping the junk radio and boom box out for the factory radio (thank you previous owner for not tossing that in the trash) I can do myself ... when and if I get time.
One of the biggest frustrations I have with my two Pontiacs is needing to work on them and not having 1) a day of good weather and 2) any personal time to do it.
Thank you for the comment on my honesty and integrity. It means a lot. I don't ever want anything handed to me that I didn't earn. I wasn't brought up to be like that and it's a lesson that I hopefully have passed on to my two daughters.

Just noticed that IROCN's Formula is an Indiana car as well. That's where I went to buy my Formula last month, Indianapolis, and drove it all the way back to Mississippi. Life is funny like that, two Formulas both from the same state in for the COTM. Nice.

It is a small world isn't it! Very cool that you found it in Indy. As Vinny R said above though, don't sell yourself or your car short, it is a beautiful car! There will always be a nicer car out there, don't get hung up on that part of it. To me, this site is about all of us having common interest, enjoying the camaraderie and helping each other out when questions/problems arise! It is an honor for us to even be nominated by these guys, so whatever the outcome, it is not the reason we are all here. Good luck man, and hopefully our paths will cross at some time!
