May 2020 COTM **Winner**
Congratulations, APRO3, you and your car are TGO's May 2020 Car of the Month!
If you lived in the 1980's and dreamed of having a fast new car -- THIS is what the dream would have looked like. A Formula 350 with a Vortech supercharger. It could hardly get any cooler than this. And when you prowled the streets in this car you had the complete package!
The recipe still works today and looks cool as heck. Great example of a clean car that is fun to play with both in the garage and on the street. And it still turns heads today as did in the 1980's.
Thanks to APRO3 for sharing with us. Read on to see why this car will be a keeper and not change hands again for a while!

This 1989 Firebird was purchased in November of 2018. It is the second Firebird I have bought on Thanksgiving. I have had four Pontiacs in my life. Always wound up selling them for financial reasons. Bummer but that's life. This Firebird has completed four Hot Rod Power Tours, with the previous owner. The last one was in 2017. She is not stock under the hood as you can see, however most of the interior and exterior is. It has 49 k original miles. A little more than some of the others nominated I see. In the year and a half that I have owned her, she has gotten many new parts and upgrades. Long hours in the garage and loving every minute of it. This car is a fighter and wants blood, sweat, and tears before she will cooperate. In 2019 I took her to the Indian Uprising, all Pontiac car show. It was a three day event that ended in us winning an award. She is not a daily driver and never has been. I enjoy taking her for rides around town and cruise nights. Trying to pass down the passion for cars to my daughter. At the moment, not working out so well. Thank you for the nomination. I'm not expecting to win but i can see the appreciation all the nominees have for the third gen cars. Nice to know there's others like me. All the cars nominated are just awesome.

Great car without it, but that lighted Pontiac portion of the taillights kind of put it over the top for me.

Contrary to popular belief the Firebirds have a higher win rate than the Camaros. It just doesn't feel like it because we see twice as many Camaros nominated. Pontiac people actually got it pretty good around here.

And history shows if you have a plain old basic Firebird (not a Formula or Trans Am) then you have the best chances of anybody to win COTM.
Bet that factoid blows minds!

Ya, I went back and looked at the six plain jane Firebirds that won and uh.... none of them were plain jane.
I guess that blows my theory out the window!
