Car: 92' RS Camaro
Engine: L98
Transmission: 700R4
Are you kidding me?!?!
I'd buy one, the styling cues from the 50's are cool as hell not to mention the powerplant underneath the hood. I think its sporting a Ls1.
I don't think its a good idea to replace the fbody... I don't think they will, from everything I've heard there'll be a 5th gen hitting the concept shows in a couple years ~2004-5... I definetely will be buying the first one off the lot if they are like the pics I have seen. I'll still keep my thirdgen though. I couldn't sell it anyways, not legal. Gotta have one super fast car, hehe.

ill reason, it looks half decent(with the powerplant you mentioned)still think it looks ugly as hell.
i will be missing the camaro... i hope they bring it back when i am older so i can afford a new one...
looks kinda like a new ford thunderbird front end , crazy ugly simpleness of an audi tt side profile, not well used hints of large fenders from the 40's, and the R badging of ***** trends...

I love it. Already have my name in for one of the first ones. BTW, it isn't meant to be a replacement for the Camaro. Different type of buyer. It isn't quick, it can't haul much payload, but it will attract attention. It looks so much better in person than in the pics. I just wish that the production SSR would have kept the split windshield and high mounted mirrors. Hopefully the aftermarket will provide us those parts fairly quickly. Love it or hate it, it will sell quite well, and shouldn't cost quite as much as the discontinued Prowler.

502 is correct. It has absoultly nothing to do with the Camaro. The Camaro will be back and there will be no "replacement" car. But while its not there, performance will find its way back again in alot of GM cars that don't have it now and in new cars that aren't out yet, not like Camaro type performance, but performance still.

I believe the reason it's considered a replacement (I might be way off on this one) is because it uses the plant the camaros were once made it. I was thinking that was the reason, but might be wrong.

Nah, the St. Theresa plant is gone. Nothing will be made there anymore from what I heard. I think the reasoning behind it being a "replacement" is that is it a V-8 RWD and will be realitivey fast compared to most trucks and handle well for a truck, etc etc etc. Will it replace the F-Body as the most bang for the buck car made? Heck no...

anyone home ???
Even though that's an ugly (in the eye of the beholder) nostalgic wanna-be 55 chevy TRUCK.... 3rd gen cars are made & done with,,, who cares what becomes of the later models ?? It only makes ours better looking & more valuable (depending on the owner)....
Let the crackheads at GM make the cam/bird a clown car for all it matters,,, it's not going to detract from the true heritage or real identity of the car.
Do the new Impalas make you forget about the times when the real ones (396 SS, etc..) were made ? Doubtful....
Just my opinion,, I couldn't care if you agree or not

IM gettin sick of retro cars...everything now has an overblown classic styling design... in other words, this car is GM's PT Cruiser
Now there is nothing wrong with bringing back an old car and IMPROVING it, like the Impala SS, not the current Impala/Cavalier/Monte Carlo (considering they are all the same car),
but something like Dodge's Charger concept, if they would build it.
If GM would actually LISTEN to people who have actually driven their cars, instead of over the hill executives who drive Benz's, they would probably get a decent new F-Body.

Sorry to say but that is old news and not accurate. It is not a replacement just another car and I like it.It does have a roof,a retractable roof.
