4th Gen Camaro Center Console in 3rd Gen?
I've seen the posts on this being done in Firebirds and TA's. Some of them mentioned it being harder in Camaros. Why?
I'm installing a T56 and will have my center console out anyways-I'm not hating on 3rd gen c consoles, just like the idea of the 4th gen console in there.

Reason is the style of the Camaro console and the firebird console.
The Firebirds' radio pod is up a little higher and is seperate from the console. The camaro console looks looks like the pod is attached.
Maybe if you got a Firebird pod and 4th gen console it would fit easier.

I think you would have to use the entire 3rdgen Firebird dash and radio pod along with the 4thgen center console. The Camaro radio pod and climate controls are attached to the console and the firebird pod mounts in a different position. The Firebird radio pod might mount to the Camaro dash, but I've never seen it done. Does anyone know?

I know the radio pod in the Bird is bolted to the lower part of the dash by 2 10MM bolts--I don't think the camaro dash has those provisions for the radio pod.

Someone who's already successfully done this conversion ought to write a tech article detailing the parts needed. I keep hearing of a 4th gen console in a thridgen but nobody ever mentions whether the console came out of a 'bird or a Camaro. I wanna install a new console in my car too but i would like to know which console and pod to buy before i hit the wrecking yards. No point in senselssly buying stuff that i won't be able to use.
