Where to get IROC-Z font?

Hey guys. A buddy of mine is thinking of making a logo for his DJ Buisness, and since he owns and is into irocs, we thought it would be cool to make his logo in the actual iroc-z font. But me being computer illiterate, I don't know how or where to get it... Is there a app I can get with different fonts? Thanks guys.

Buy CorelDRAW!
Make your own Font

Done it... it is kind of fun if you are artsy...

Case in point - See Signature... I have that and I have the outline version.

You made your own, but they are nothing close to the correct font that he is asking for.

Those emblems are completely wrong. I know they are replacements, but they are horrible and should never have been authorized by GM

Yes, I made my own, and yes, they are close to the original. We used his original emblems for the model, then they were modified to friends liking.
Yes, they can be made to match exactly. I've have a file somewhere, but the point was just to show that it can be matched. I used to have the font a long time ago, on another computer, but it's gone.

Re: Where to get IROC-Z font?

What you show here in post 4, are nothing close to original. They may be the correct size to fit in the ground effects recess, but the font and look is not even close. Now, if you have another set that you made that are an exact match, that's a different story, but that's not what you showed us.

Re: Where to get IROC-Z font?

I'm willing to bet lunch it's not actually a font. Meaning there aren't any other letters out there other than IROC and Z. Could be wrong, but I doubt it. ....now, that doesn't mean you can't MAKE a font, but of course since GM never USED other letters, there's no "right" or "wrong" way to make them.

...custom emblems have been made time and time again, some correct.....and some not so much!

I would agree... It is probably not a font until someone decides to sit down and make it one.... On a related note The Pontiac/Firebird/Trans Am Font, is very similar to "Good Times" It is not exact, but with a little manipulation it is close.

Re: Where to get IROC-Z font?

Found a font relatively close, just have to italicize it.

If not, look up sans serif fonts.
Good luck

Re: Where to get IROC-Z font?

I had similar aspirations back in 2002. Didn't get too far with it though. If your looking for a laugh, peep this post from yester-year. Mind you, I was in my early 20's and my ambitions were borderline Rice, but I can laugh at myself as I never did it, and I know better know.
