Thank you!
I don't think I have ever been to a show with 6 Third Gens there. Usually it's me and maybe one other, if I'm lucky.
I find it interesting who parks next to you at shows. I feel like I get the most interesting things parking next to me. A Datsun at the last show and before that, the Stanley Steamer. Just cool, different stuff.

Nice turnout of birds there! gotta love the 4x4, it looks like it is a fairly new build from the pic.

Re: Post 1 Pic Actually At A Car Show Event
Nice selection of third gens. The 4X4 wouldn't be my choice (not judging) but I respect the other guys choices and the fact that he takes care of it and it shows. Good for him. It's good to see all the cars out.

Trophy Night at the big Wednesday Cruisin’ The Tree.. hundreds of cars, 5 trophies and it was one 50s car and four 60s cars.. Best in show was a 65 GTO
Even put the stock radio back in.. Not so bad with the tape adapter..
Best in Show Winner

Re: Post 1 Pic Actually At A Car Show Event
Thanks man! I took a bunch of pics because I really detailed the hell out of the car. I figured I’d give it a good shot to win a trophy. Put the stock radio back in, Put the GM floormats in for the show, had a display with the original trim sheet, info on the car, original dealer brochure, owners manual and old IROC print ads.. A guy and his kid came over from the mall because he said he saw the car pull in and he walked about a football field to check it out.. The DJ’s assistant came over too.. The IROC had a steady crowd around it the whole show.. I thought I’d win something, especially seeing the dust and cobwebs on some of the 50s and 60s cars.. but nope, no win for the IROC.. They really need an 80s and 90s category because there were some really nice cars that just get overlooked for the same old, same old.. Classic status is 25 years which is 1994!
Its fun to put on a good show trophy or not..

1) It's not a '69 Camaro.
2) It's not a '69 Camaro painted red.
3) It's not a '69 Camaro painted red with ugly aftermarket wheels..

Re: Post 1 Pic Actually At A Car Show Event
The winners were
42’ Ford Hotrod flat black with flames
67’ Camaro white, basic and clean
68’ restomod Camaro black with flames & 18” wheels
58’ Fuelie vette
65’ GTO
The 68 Camaro had a crazy paintjob but finger and hand prints ALL over it. Dirty interiors all around, dirty wheels... come on people!

I personally like your Iroc and your C4 better than that bird sg%#+ colored GTO. I love GTOs but 68 and later.

Ha ha... Thanks! I do have a soft spot for stacked light GTOs but I know a guy who has a 66 that is concourse flawless with the nicest black paint I’ve ever seen and is still very original looking.. All others sort of pale in comparison..

The 88 Sledgehammer Calloway made was 878hp and did 254mph.. That is nuts... And him and Lingenfelter drove the car from CT to Ohio to test it... That car is figured to be worth $800k-$1mm and is in a private collection and also no longer considered street legal though it was at the time..

That’s a Calloway ZR1 too... 500hp.. I remember seeing those in magazines and never thought I’d see one in real life... You could order them from dealers and there was an RPO code.. guy had the window sticker too, was fascinating..

Small show yesterday in my hometown. There were only maybe 20 cars. I was the only f-body, period. The guys with the Mustang and the Vette on both sides of me were super cool.

4th of July car show at a local Church. Wound up having close to 200 cars and only two third gens.

Somebody liked Thirdgens enough to put it in the paper. Figured they would have picked another of the almost 200 cars I'm surprised!
