How does this paint job sound?

I'm finally getting my car painted, and here's the price the body shop gave me:

Now were talking a color change, gray to red.
$3500 includes:
Prep car- fix small dents, sand, new primer and sealer
Remove doors, paint door jamcs
Paint bottom of hood and most framework under the hood. (along fenders, above radiator)
Trim out hatch
Color wetsand and polish

The paint is 2 stage DuPont urethane basecoat clearcoat.

I saw the car after the prep work, door jams, hatch and under hood were done, and so far it looks damn good!

The 86 Sport Coupes have no ground effects. Bu if your askin, the entire car is going to be red.

That price doesn't seem bad.

I'm planning to have my car repainted in the spring... I wish I could afford a paint job like that. I'm going to have to settle for real nice shiney blue on the outside... with flat nasty blue in the door jams and stuff..heh.. its not a show car or anything so I"m not too worried about it.

Mine was the same as yours, except black to red. Plus shaved antenna and cut to fight side markers for 2400. However, no wetsand or buff. Another guy around here offered to do it for 3300 same as above with wetsand and buff, but he also said it'd take alot longer than the other people.

Yeah they've had my car for about 3 weeks, but that doesn't matter when its not even registered. I sure am glad I decided to get the car painted when I had another car.

If it makes you feel any better, they told me two weeks, took 6 and struggled to get that 6 in. It was finished as they were closing that night.

My point still stands though. If he likes the car and want to keep it, paint the biatch instead of buying another the colour you want.
