Holy hell... It's like a bunch of women just found themselves at the same party all wearing the same dress.
Everyone's gonna campaign. Just remember this is all for fun, it's not the Riddler Award (no offense BADNBLK). Don't suck the life out of it or take it too seriously, guys.
It's unfortunate you felt you need remove yourself John.
...as you were.

Pandering for votes is like beating up a little kid. If this contest is no big deal, then why do it? Guys/clubs that ask for votes is pathetic..let your car win on it's own merit if it can, if it can't, let it go to a car/owner that deserves it.

Wow, I can't believe what this has come down to. John, I nominated the ROC and just knew you'd win. I use your car as my inspiration.
At this moment, I'm laying in my hospital room in Charlottesville, Va after being diagnosed with Leukemia. The main thing my doctor tells me every day is "think of the top 3 things that can raise your spirit and give you something to look forward to when you beat this thing" 1. My 9 yr son 2. My 89 IROC 3. 87350iroc's car. Every morning when I got up, I had my nurse look up the results, and when she said "your friend John is still in the lead!" I can't explain how much something like that would raise my spirit. I can't wait to get out of here, get home, put the key in the ignition, turn it and fire up my IROC!!! I wish this thread would of turned out different, but it is what it is. I hope John is still my friend, I hope whoever wins, enjoys the feeling of having won and I hope we can all go back to being normal again... without the drama

I just felt that by staying in this month's COTM, I would be indirectly supporting the actions of some. I work hard every day on my integrity and reputation, both in life and online. One of my favorite quotes.
Trust takes years to earn,
seconds to lose,
and forever to regain.
Some may say I'm being silly, but it is how I choose to operate.
To be specific, I have no problem with a post informing membership that someone's car is in the poll. My issue comes with campaigning and telling people who to vote for. Yeah, politicians campaign, but is that really who they consider a role model?
Hopefully those campaigning will win so their efforts have been worthwhile. If COTM is that important to them, then it is worth the effort, I suppose.
Again, I want to thank Brandon for his efforts running COTM. I understand the amount of time it takes. He is an asset to our community. To those that don't like the way the poll is being run, I can only suggest to create your own poll on another website and run it how you see fit.
If anyone has any other questions for me, please feel free to PM, email, call.

Doesnt really matter who wins, COTM is a great way to showcase great thirdgens. I'm sure there are a lot of members who dont frequent the site that often, and just like COTM simply to see some inspirational cars. I hardly ever post, but I always vote and I'm sure there are others like me.

If you guys want to continue having a COTM, this kind of stuff needs to stop. Even if it doesn't stop, it needs to be IGNORED for the sake of a continuing COTM system. Dont let one bad club ruin the recognition that so many here deserve to get for their cars - that's what it's about.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
I don't, To tell the truth I looked at the first 4 pictures and voted then read the soap opera. I scrolled up 3 different times to see if your car was there and I missed it when I read people saying they voted for you. LOL
Then I hit page 2......
EDIT: TO be in the spirit of this contest I am going to finish my post.
I did not vote for the purple one because it's purple. LOL I did not vote for charged because I don't like the inter-cooler grill. I would never vote for anything with big rims so that only left the race car..That was why I picked it.
I will say if 87350IROC was there he would have had my vote with the race car 2nd.

"Pandering is the act of expressing one's views in accordance with the likes of a group to which one is attempting to appeal."
Simply: I am a gun owner... Pandering would be me supporting strict gun control to gain votes. I dislike guns, just like you. Please vote for me now that we both agree...

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
WOW!!! i really didnt like only the expensive cars winning in this! but hey im nobody. i think every car on this site deserves to win. as i was told before that people wanted to see the best and that was it. now yall are bickering over voting??? better reset all the presidential voting as well. who cares who votes? who cares who tells who what?? now that this has come down to an 8 year olds battle to mine is better it ought to be cancelled all together till we can remove the crybabay comments to bring something to order. or put someone in charge that is not going to blow all this out of proportin over who did what for votes. imop. nobody should win this unless someone with NO BIAS WHATSOEVER TO WHO, WHY, AND WHERE VOTES COME FROM runs it.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
ThirdGen's COTM has ran for over 1 year and has shown readers some of the best ThirdGens within the community. In that regard, I would consider it a success. That success is due to Brandon taking the time to lead the COTM process as well as those who participate within the rules. Of course, the cars have a big part, too.
I don't consider it fair, or acceptable, to ask Brandon to step down - especially when Brandon was attempting to be fair to the community - while there are others who were involved and those were attempting to do what they thought was best for their club/friend/etc.
While we can't control what occurs outside of ThirdGen, no one should need a campaign to get their car to win. Cars should win on their own merit. We can only hope that people actually vote for the best car and not vote a specific way because they were instructed to do so. This is really supposed to showcase some of the best cars through a process of voting for the best car. It's also supposed to be a bit fun for the community.
Again, the COTM has ran for over 1 year and has helped show the community some of the nicest ThirdGens within the community while running quite well with minimal issues. I would consider that a success and I hope it continues with the help of Brandon and those who participate fairly and within the simple rules.
Can we get back to helping showcase some of the best ThirdGens within our community? The COTM isn't just good for ThirdGen.org's community, but it's good for ThirdGens in general when others see the nice examples of ThirdGens.

JT, you rock!
I would like to throw my support, whatever that is worth, to Brandon as I believe he acted as I would have in the situation. He is a moderator and it is his job to discern what is right and wrong in these forums and to moderate... it.
I believe that calling out a party if they are not adhering to the rules is fair. I also been watching these threads each month and see a car in first or second place and wonder how on earth did they even come close to winning. I think it should be up to normal members of the boards to vote and not having someone become a "citizen" for a day to vote for someones car. I wont even go over immigration rules and why the government is trying to add... anyway. Brandon, you have my support and I thank you for doing this each month. You dont have to but I am sure it has been a labor of love on your part. I enjoy nominating and sometimes my horse wins and sometimes it dont, but its great fun to watch!

There is absolutely NO reason for Brandon to step down because some members did not appreciate his way of handling the situation. He was very civil in his wording and handled it very well. He is a good man.
I personally am waiting for this month's contest to be over so we can all move on.

Just sayin' since this is what people were complaining about. Aprils cotm. Here's a view from the other side.. and many more can be found too.. but this one peaks my interest since its ian asking his club for help and some talk bout other cars in contest too.

Thank you JT, and everyone else with the PM's of encouragement and kind words.
There is no doubt that this month got all messed up to say the least. I enjoy taking my personal time to highlight and put together this COTM program and plan on continuing with it. There is obvious changes that need to me made for this to work better, or work with less potential issues between any members idea of right and wrong.
I want to apologize to every member here that was a part of this month COTM program, whether it be voting, or nomination, or nominee. It take the members for this style of a program to work. I want to say that I feel like this month has been tarnished enough that I feel that we need to start over, and I will be closing this months COTM thread, and deleting it in the near future.
I am at this time unsure if there will be a COTM as everyone has become used too for July, so again I apologize, knowing that there is many of you that look forward to this program and use the cars as inspiration for what ever inspiration you may be needing at the time. I will make sure, and I'm sure JT will be happy to help me get the word out when the program is back up and running... again I'm not going anywhere on this program
To the members of the NYTG. I'm sure you are all great guys, and I'm sure in the real world we could be friends, drink beer, and talk cars. I didn't intend on picking on you guys, and never want to trash the name of your club.
As JT had said let's get back to talking, posting, and enjoying all these third gens that brought us all here in the first place.
Brandon
