That guy posted a stupid comment on the NY site I agree. It was just one guy who got a little carried away. I've been a member on TGO for 10 years and on this forum for 3 years before even joining. I've also been on the NY site since it started. If I blamed an entire site for the comments of a few members I wouldn't be on here or there.
I say just vote for the car you like most lets not get side tracked here. Good luck to all the guys/cars this month!

BTW Formula350, Spohn sells the Panhard Bolts you were looking for if you still need them.

The above posts were brought to my attention.
http://s9.zetaboards.com/nythirdgen/topic/7377435/1/
There is the link to the entire thread. That one post by one person is the only slightest thing that could even be perceived as mean. I guess people aren't allowed to have opinions. When in reality and beyond the Internet they are.
Judge as you want. My car and the fact it's an awesome ride is still just that, my car. Built the way I wanted to build it. And if someone didn't like something on it and said it, I wouldn't let my panties get all up in a bunch like nick because he didn't win cotm and Dave's car had more votes.
Carry on ladies.

That comment was made by me. I take full responsibility, please do not let my brief lack of sense ruin the image and credibility of the fellow members of NYThirdGen.
What was said was out of frustration, mostly with other issues and it was wrong of me to target iansane winning COTM. He deserves it, his car is nice and a lot of work went into it.
Please accept my wholehearted apology and be assured that my big mouth won't be causing anymore trouble.

Coming to your site? I've been on this site for over a decade. And so have most of the members of our car club. That's the difference here. We are a car club, that happens to have a website and a forum. Not just a website for cars like this is.
And no matter what this is between the cars, not people or their opinions or website vs website. Keep it to the cars. After all this isn't website of the month is it?

It has nothing to do with me losing and Daves car getting more votes then me. I could care less and congradulate Ian on his win. I consider him a friend that I have known on here for a long time, so thanks for your spin on why you think I made my comment earlier.
Dave has a nice car too, its just as I said, a nasty comment or attitude like the one mentioned kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth for the club as a whole if that's how the site is portrayed from someone on the outside.
I do appreciate the appology though and I am sure Ian would too.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
That's all fine and dandy. But as a grown man, does one group and generalize a entire assembly of people by the actions and opinions of one person in that group. I would venture to say no. Get what I'm saying. A opinion is a opinion, everyone has one. If you don't like someone's opinion that's perfectly normal and fine. But don't try to throw everyone in the same bus. That's child's play.

I get what you are saying, but at the same time, as grown men that are supposedly representing a tight knit club its easier to associate the negativity of a member to the general group. Its not like TGO where its a large website and not an actual club. I have been in local clubs before and there is generally no tolerance for that kind of behavior because it can cast a bad image over the group. He has appologized though which is a positive outcome.

Not that I know of but I think you can get a calender made at Costco if you have one in your area.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
You could save the COTM pics from last year and put them on a jump drive and take it to CostCo to have a calendar made if that's what you wanted. They do other stuff too, my wife had a couple of coffee mugs made of pics from my car and from our wedding. I've also got a mouse pad of my car too that is from there.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
All the cars this month are beauties, but I always lean towards the ones that have mods as well as attention to detail. Sickness' car is so well put together and has unbelievable exterior modifications to it that make it look incredible, but there isn't that much in the engine though so I would be hesitant when someone threw me a rev at a light driving it. Charged has extensive work done to the body as well, but its boosted, and its a runner. I am stuck between these two cars, as both of them are tastefully done, and both embellish the owner's individuality...

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
Wow I missed a lot on this thread over the weekend. I noticed that the race for 1st place in the poll took a sudden jump from one member, but didn't check into all the posted here.
I can say that I am disappointed in the NYthirdgen group, not as much for the lack of love for last months winner, but the thread pandering for votes specifically for a club member... Its things like these type of threads off site that are going to ruin the legitimacy of the COTM and the votes that are counted here. Members of other car clubs/groups voting on a members car, maybe not because its their favorite, but they know the driver. Posting that a member "who didn't vote for xxxx, better not fall asleep before them", or else at the next meeting... It sucks, its not how its supposed to be. Did we know that it could happen yeah, has it happened before... kinda.
We all have friends here and not one person would feel bad about knowing that a friend had voted for them. I have seen other groups and FB pages post links to our COTM program, but the difference is that nobody was being told who to vote for, on these pages and groups. It's stacking the deck against a guy that may not be as fortunate to have a great car club like yours, but has an equally nice car, and put just as much blood sweat and tears.
Anyways... last months COTM is over. iansane can hold his head high.
I have not intentions on scouring the internet for posts, and threads, about the COTM, and potential politics that may be going to increase any one persons votes. I will however remove a person from a poll/COTM if I find it and deem it necessary, so with that... If your voted into COTM and you have friends making threads asking for votes for you, or what ever. It may be in your own best interest to ask them to delete these type of threads.
On with the voting. Anyone with a problem PM, as to not clutter this up any more than it is now.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
To the extent that NYTG has pandered votes for its members, I am disappointed. All yours guys cars are very clean, and probably could continue to win without having to pull tactics on your site to win. Tactics like...
- The multi-page thread/s telling member to vote one direction.
http://s9.zetaboards.com/nythirdgen/topic/7377435/1/
- Other members/site-admin/creator talking about how they have sent an email blast about the subject to all members to vote for one of their own.

Someone explain to me how we send an email to 900 members asking them to support one of our own and he only has 33 votes so far? Oh and not in the lead....

- Members talking about members who did not vote for said member should not fall asleep around them at the next meet. What happens there?
- Having a secret weapon PFC Collins (Private First Class?... don't know if some computer whiz hacking or just having a whole unit vote for the said member?)... to help get the votes up if your own members fail?
I'm getting a text out to our secret weapon PFC Collins. Lol Edited by neeb_usmc, Apr 26 2013, 10:15 AM.
- The new thread created for THIS MONTHS TGO COTM is an a limited access area of the website... why? Is there something to hide? Does someone feel that what your doing is not legit enough that the general public could not see it?
http://s9.zetaboards.com/nythirdgen/...7389059/2/#new
- I noticed a huge jump in Charged355 votes over the weekend... does this mean that the email blast was sent out? Did those votes come after the new COTM page was created in the non-public area of the NYTG site when this happened? Secret weapon PFC?
These are reasons I am personally disappointed in what has always appeared to be a cool club I was jealous of. Its the internet and I get it. I can't control it and there is always someone smarter out there that knows ways around rules. What is happening in last months NYTG COTM comes down to personal morals. Its stacking the deck against the guy that is super excited to just be nominated, who thinks that he has a chance to maybe win. I personally wouldn't feel good knowing that I had done that to another member, whose car is obviously taken the same blood, sweat, and tears to get to the level that yours has. As much as we are strangers we are a family... common interest, goals, friends.
I think that there should be some disappointment. Does this change the internet and those that want to continue to find ways around what has been an implied honest manor of doing things... No probably not gonna change. Does this mean that NYTG is the only ones that have tried to "help" a friend/club member/whatever... No. There was another member I was disappointed in with a sudden jump of votes too. I'm not your dad, so maybe disappointment doesn't matter, but I'm sure there are members of your club that aren't like the above and would be really disappointed if someone used the same tactics against them winning something, and I'm sure they would not be proud if they had a stacked deck used for a win for them.
So again I offer anyone that wants to talk further about this, the option to talk in PM's.

I just wanted to pop in and say I harbor no hard feelings. Sometimes things get heated when a friend is in such a close running. All the cars that have been nominated and in competition for these things are seriously cool examples of thirdgens. Thank you for the apology.

On topic, I feel that our COTM has been forever stained by the events that have transpired. It has not been ruined, mind you, but it will not be the same.

Guys, Dont give a black eye to members of a car club because of a comment from one or two people. Look here at TGO, we have quit a few not so smart people floating around. But that dosent reflect the majority of members here, does it?
NYTG is a GREAT forum, and an even better club of great guys. They help each other with there cars. Do a ton of charity events all the time. And always, ALWAYS help each other out! Even with personal issues. There are one big happy dysfunctional family. I really cant say enough great things about NYTG. Yes, its a big regional club that was created off of TGO originally. If it wasnt for TGO there would def be no NYTG (Ask me how I know). Bottom line, we are all Thirdgen enthusiasts and love these cars. So we should all be on the same page. I love TGO and I love NYTG!
NOW. BACK ON TOPIC!!!!!!!!!!!
That Iroc is awesome. What are its specs, I see it has TFS heads and a stockish TPI. Im interested to know what it has, and what #'s it has made. Dyno, track???

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
Couple of things here.
First, I don't need to win cotm. My car was nominated without my knowledge. That's fine and when I knew that I did post a link on our forum letting people know about the voting. Most of our members don't frequent tgo as much as they do our website. At our upcoming monthly meet I bet you there will be people that have no clue about this. We are more oriented towards actual car time and face time and less on the forum time.
Not once did I say you must vote for my car, to anyone. For all I know half of the people that saw my thread could have voted for any of the cars in the runing. And that wouldn't offend me one bit. There is plenty people that like my car, but probably just as many that don't because its a bit on the radical side. That doesn't effect me now or will it ever down the line here or anywhere.
Just like other people post links and tell people to vote that's what I did, just so happens that I have a thirdgen car club with a decent crowd in it. It's nothing worse then posting it on my personal Facebook page asking for people to vote.
As for our special weapon, if you were a part of our club you would know that was a simple joke, referring to one of our younger members that went into the service to protect me and you and this country.
The one bad comment made was already dealt with and Shane apologized for it.
And in final, I didn't post the topic for any other reason then to let people see and vote, for whoever they wanted to vote. I haven't shared much about my car on tgo in a while and the popular tgo people know that. I had close to 10 xxx posts here. But that's neither here nor there.
If you want to take my car down from the cotm contest that's fine with me I got no issues with that. I didn't come here to start issues and troubles. I came here to show my car. I can't police what others do and write on the Internet. Can't control the fact I have a large fallowing with my car club.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
87350IROC has asked to be removed from this month's COTM program...
Bad,
I hope you are well and enjoying dealing with the COTM. I do think it is a terrific way to highlight our community. I am sure it is a lot of hard work for you but I think I speak for the majority in thanking you. And I do appreciate being nominated.
However I cannot support what seems to be going on in these COTM threads lately. I was out of town this weekend and was surprised to see what that thread has turned into. I just cannot understand the behavior of some of the other communities. And I have no desire to be associated with their actions in any way. With that said, I request being removed from the COTM for this month and the foreseeable future.
I wish good luck to the other nominees and hope all the time spent campaigning is fruitful.
Thank you,
John

BADNBLK, With all due respect. You went a bit too far with post #77. After you edited it. The person apologized more than one time on both forums. And everyone was more than transparent with what they posted. It should have been dropped after the initial apology.

What was the purpose of your post? We established we sent an email to all our members. We established their was a negative post which the member apologized for. We established the issue was closed and we all acknowledge and moved on.
We also all admitted that we know NYTHIRDGEN was not the only car club to do this.
Again what was the purpose?
I find it very irresponsible for a moderator to do what you just did and I am sure the TGO community would agree.
I reported your first post as inappropriate for singling out one specific club and now I am reporting post 77 and asking that you rights as a mod be removed and/or suspended until you learn how to act responsible.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
I know that my opinion is not worth much (if anything -lol) but I have to say that whenever someone you know, like or care about is entered in some sort of contest, our human nature takes over and we try to help that person to win.
Nothing wrong with that, and we've all done it (or will) at some point.
So even though I think that sometimes we all get carried away in that regard, it is also important to keep the "fun" factor as part of the equation. Some people will "campaign" themselves or others will for them. Whether they want that to happen or not.
COTM lends itself perfectly for this, and I think that we all should accept that and (frankly) be okay with it. The other alternative is to have some sort of lottery, and I can almost guarantee the fact that no one would be happy with that.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents and I will shut up now
I had voted for 87350IROC and I think his car should stay in the running.
Thanks.

Gooman, I made my post not about the members bashing iansanes car, which was apologized for, but for the pandering for votes of your members. I recount no other clubs doing this in the past that has been noted since TGO has had a COTM program. There was admittedly a problem with a single member that was solved in the past.
After you reported my post (which I also get notification of), I chose to add the links to the specifics I was talking about. Your happened to post and complain about how after sending 900 emails only 33 members voted for your member... ouch. If there is irresponsibilty in a position of power, I think I found one. I'm not out to give your club a black eye. Some of the members found a way to do that, I just called it as it is... NOT RIGHT! As I have said its stuff I can't change. I can't be internet police, nor do I want to.
If this means the end of me taking my personal time to put together a COTM program, then it is what it is. I love being able to showcase all these nice cars. 3 members as of now have got magazine coverage from COTM program. Have I/TGO helped the community, yes. If every month I have to wonder what club/group/whatever is out there pushing another member to a win in the program, then I'm not sure I want to be involved. I think everybody loses.

I know you can see the report that is why I sent it.
My point is this
"- The new thread created for THIS MONTHS TGO COTM is an a limited access area of the website... why? Is there something to hide? Does someone feel that what your doing is not legit enough that the general public could not see it?"
http://s9.zetaboards.com/nythirdgen/...7389059/2/#new
What was the purpose of this post? Our forum like TGO is set up that you must log in to be able to read certain parts.
I googled TGO car of the month and found other forums where their members tried to solicit votes for their own. Did they send an email I do not know, did they post it on Facebook I am sure they did.
My real point is you could of worded your original post better.
"I can say that I am disappointed in the NYthirdgen group, not as much for the lack of love for last months winner, but the thread pandering for votes specifically for a club member"
This would of had the same effect if you did not single out a club
"I can say that I am disappointed in any group or individuals, not as much for the lack of love for last months winner, but the thread pandering for votes specifically for a club member"
Then you got offended with my reporting your post and decided to take it further.
Lets agree to disagree here and you have my word that if another NYTG car is nominated an email will not be sent and if anything a link will be posted just giving our members a heads up.
Please clean this thread an remove all this garbage so not to stain the COTM any further.

Holy crap guys.... cmon already. It's Car of the Month.... Enough with the arguing and bickering. We're all mature adults I'd like to think so. So cast a vote, and have some friendly competition. The comment was rude... I'll agree there. He apologized, so lets get back to the real point behind this and vote for the nicest car that we "individually" think so. Not posting threads on other forums and whatnot to beg for votes for someone. (I didn't know it was that serious) Lets just keep the COTM on this forum within this forum. Great, Grand, Wonderful.

The COTM has a huge **** stain on it now thanks to everyone who participated in all of this. The entire thread should be burned, torn into pieces, then buried...

I'm a bit ashamed I poked my local club for some extra votes. I think I got 5 or 6 people who posted saying they'd vote?

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
I see a lot of grown men crying around here. It's a voting contest right? So
People vote, like when you have a presidential election and they call you on the phone asking to vote, bombard you with commercials, everywhere you turn on the net there is a pop up.
It's the nature of any voting occasion, and as stated above others have done the same thing. Even your praised winner from last month campaigned for votes.
So grow up please get your undies out of the bunch they are in and act like MEN. Go do a burnout or two maybe everyone feel a little better. Or maybe it's just that time of the month.
And let me just say this, I couldn't care less about cotm here or anywhere else, you know why, cuz it's the Internet. Tell me what will happen to my car if I win cotm, nothing, what will happen to me, nothing.
All we got outta this that people here are a little to damn sensitive. Shoulda go beat as kids more often. Maybe you'd have thicker skin.

Re: June COTM 2013 **VOTING**
I don't, To tell the truth I looked at the first 4 pictures and voted then read the soap opera. I scrolled up 3 different times to see if your car was there and I missed it when I read people saying they voted for you. LOL
Then I hit page 2......
EDIT: TO be in the spirit of this contest I am going to finish my post.
I did not vote for the purple one because it's purple. LOL I did not vote for charged because I don't like the inter-cooler grill. I would never vote for anything with big rims so that only left the race car..That was why I picked it.
I will say if 87350IROC was there he would have had my vote with the race car 2nd.
